  1. Hi had same problem with a spanial as i had four dogs at the time this is what i did i found a path that was fenced on both sides then over a peroid of time i let them off along this path i called the three dogs inn that would return to me and ignored the one that does'nt as the dog is running with the pack it started to run back to me with the dog that i was calling back then now and again as the dog was going away with the one i had just recalled i would call it up to me and then made a big fuss of it the big thing is to take no notice of the dog when it wants you to fuss about with it for
  2. Start at nearside rear open nipple and then push caliper pistons back into caliper hold them their by wedching a flat lever between the pad and disc then bleed caliper repeat with offside rear then repeat with the front. If you can't get a good pedal then use a pressure bleeder you can buy these from most motor spares shops.
  3. i only have had springers and i don't start any serious training until about 9 months but then i don't want the dog for trialing just for me to shoot over .An old trick is to tie along lenght of cord to the dog and to a post sit the dog down walk away and then crouch down and call the dog to you with lots of enthusiasm as the cord is about to stop the dog blow your stop whistle stand up and raise your hand the cord should stop the dog as you give the stop command be aware don't over do it because if the dog has any sense it will twig on to this trick very quickly .This is only to give the dog

  7. plenty around the scottish borders and they are on the increase year on year on our patch don't have to much problems with poult kills as we knock off lots of bunnies and leave them for the buzzards until the poults educate themselfs against the dangers the only real threat on our patch is the buzzards seam to stop the birds from moving from wood to wood by worrying them from fence posts and poles.Don't realy know the ins and outs of what they eat but i did watch one pick up a mixy rabbit and then fly up with it and drop it and then had it for its dinner. So yes the numbers are on the up as fo

  16. O i am in a postion to make a comparison. I may have worded that wrong BUT we do every part for every car including jap cars,we don;t always have them in stock but we can get them the same day or the next morning and i don't sit in a warm office .And the kerbside mechanics are still good custermers because even full time mechanics need the tools to do the job,and they are in the garage half the time not at the side off the road so they improvise and OK agrea to differ was in the motor trade for 35 years never found a factor that was as good as yours me thinks you exaggerate a wee bit.bye by
  17. tewks i think most of us have done a bit of poaching at some time and we new their was laws writen and mebees unwriten but can i ask you something what do you think gamees are for are they working men doing a job or are they their to just stop people poaching.Sorry if this gone of the thread but their seems to be a hostile attitude towards keepers is this from personel experienses or a general feeling amongst those who don't or cannot get any permision or is it everyone .
  18. have shot on permision for 7 years and had rights for three we do have deer but do not stalk for sport as i am not on the land as often as a would like,I asked the farmer to moniter the deer and if he had a problem with them then we would cull. Up to now no problems no cull we have had 5 road kills as far as we know and the surounding land is stalked .One thing we have noticed since a wind farm was erected we don't see as many deer on the place this may be just down to disturbance by the daily maint check on the windfarm or they just could have moved on .I do agrea that the shooting of dear i
  19. . PLEASE REFER TO YOUR FIRST QUOTE YOU STATE YOU SELL MORE PARTS FOR LANDYS THAN JAPS I SAY AS YOU CANNOT SUPPLY JAP PARTS YOU ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO MAKE A COMPARISON AS FOR (kerbside machanics most are full time machanics having to do work on the side to boost thier income so you and your fellow workers in a nice warm office shoud'nt throw stones at people having to get dirty for a living and how many jap 4x4 s can be fixed at the kerbside.)
  20. Now Lucky we all now that once you bottom any vehicle your stuck even tracked vehicles consider this do landy owners expect to much from them and drive them harder of road than someone with a jap vehicle with good body lines and plastic bumpers.Iadmit the biuld is poor highest cost to run don't think so.! Track rod end landy £12 average jap £30 and its the same for most running costs.
  21. MR T POT you know that motor factors can't supply many parts for jap 4x4 and the landy stuff is cheap.Lads who know a bit about motors can keep their landys on the road themselfs .Having said that i have used both and repaird all types at the end of the day it's persanel joice but formost it comes down to what you nead your 4x4 for.OFF ROAD /MOTORWAY/ TOWING/GOODS/POSEING,OR A MIX AND MATCH.For the record i use a 90 T5 and it does the job for me.
  22. got a little bitch good with other dogs and very soft with kids , a little terrer on rats marks rabbit sets for ferrets and when out clearing ferrel pigeons from farm biuldings with air rifle if any are still flaping she runs in and finishes them of and retrievs to hand plus shes good company out and about .This is the only work i have asked her to do so my experience is very limited

Thanks people for replys still would like to know witch region would have the most hunters north south east or west and is it linked to population or towns or rural areas. As for northumberland i think most hunters are from towns but we do have a vast amount of countryside on our doorsteps i started to hunt(catch bunnys as a kid living in a pit town useing snares on the pit heaps .)so they may be called townies but many have a lot of hands on experiance of the countryside and the wildlife it supports .SO as i'am thick could someone devise a poll to show percentage of members in areas could be
  25. My opiniun you are stiring it for the sake of it we must have a united membership some times it wiser to say nowt in mixed company. now you are stirring by asking that question? It was a simple question i asked... i wanted no arguements and no piss taking. Its small minded people like you that cause the arguements. Im interested in people thoughts on this subject and we should all be able to speak our mind without arguing. If you cant contribute to the debate in a positve way dont contribute at all.
