    Theres this river that i fish at which holds a few pike and theres a bridge with a bit of a waterfall under it i was looking down in the river and saw 2 carp look alike fish but they were quite long and didnt look thick enough for big carp and it is a river, and where these fish were you can see the bottom of the river bed thats why i thought they were barbel one of the fish looked about 10-15 lbs so i tried ledgering with worms and within 15 mins the spool went rocketing of so i struck and there was a fish on the end but the first thing it did was head straight down into some roots so i lost

    my jill has swollen glands or big muscles each side in her neck she's eating drinking and is running about, just wondering what it is, but ive never noticed it before. has anyone else come across this?

    Hi, we had a kit with this problem this spring, The vet said it looked like either a calcium deficiancy or scoliosis... as our kits were supplimented with kibble mush as well as the raw rabbit from 3 weeks we think osteodystrophy unlikely and the rest of the litter were fine.. Hubby was gonna call it a day with this poor lil mite as he wasn't really getting around all that great at 8 weeks.. and we didn't want it to suffer a poor quality of life, like you, we didn't notice it until that time.. but within days he picked up a bit... ( we did add STRESS to the kibble for a couple weeks

    Obtain it naturally a bit of rabbit then small bones for them to crunch on will do the trick, watch the milk though might give them the two bob bits i dont have any rabbit at the moment but i have a few pigeons hanging in my out house will pigeon be as good? i'll have a couple of rabbit in 2 days or so though

    ive given it milk and little chrushed egg shell the vets should have some calcium stuff

    do you think a calcium diet for the ferret is worth trying?

    ive rung a freind which is also in medicine and she thinks that it could be calcuim deficiency as when the ferrets eat the chicken thighs there not eating the bones which contian the calcium its starting to make sense as young ferrets should need calcium for the bones to grow and if they are not getting enough calcium then the joints will not form properly. before i make the decision to put it down. i'll try a calcium rich diet for it. if you think this wont work please tell me

    i have 8 kits at the moment. there 8 weeks old. One of them seems to have a twisted upper spine by his ribs one side of the ribs feels flat the other side feels normal , this kit has never been as active as the others and never seems to walk as much as the others , but ive never noticed the twisted spine untill today well it feels like the spine but he seems as happy as usual i'll take him to the vets tomorrow, but i would imagine that as ferrets are small animals they will go down hill fast. and he's also my favorite out of the litter so please any help will be appreitated. i'll have

    i know its hot baking hot weather but its been this hot before and my other ferrets haven't panted like dogs do when there hot, do ferret kits pant when there hot? one or two of my kits are panting they seem to be happy though, and there cage is in the shadiest place in the garden. is this normal? any advice will be helpfull thanks

    right well basically i'm going mackerel fishing tomorrow i'm going to use feathers as usual but i have also have a few pike flies which look the same as a feathers i know that i wont catch as many on a fly but to me it seems fun. i haven't done alot of fly fishing so to me it will fun lol. just wondering if anyone else has tried catching mackeral on a fly?

    I postsed a topic a few weeks ago about how long to leave the kitts with there mother and most said take her out if she is knackered,but there not feeding from her anymore and also she doesn't drag them in to the nest anymore, there 8 weeks on sunday, would it be ok to leave the jill with the kits and not bother moving her on her own?

    i went pike fishing again today, caught a couple of small pike and a few perch. im just wondering weather to bother getting a load of lure and plugs as ive been told lures ar better for big pike, i was using spinners. will big pike be most likley to take spinners or plugs etc. the record out of that certain stretch of river was 25lbs or somthing
