  1. Hi mate, Welcome to the forum. For future reference, posts of this nature should go in the 'General Airgun Discussion' forum - been a bit of aggro regarding posts in the wrong section. Stick around, there's some good guys on here that know their onions, so to speak. (I can't comment on the Brocock as I know nothing of it!)
  2. Now then airgunners, Recently I'd been considering adding a laser to my set up, for range estimation. After having a look around the internet, I came across a good deal on Blackpool Air Rifles' site for a BSA 2-LF. It's a laser and 'flashlight' combo, supplied with a mount and pressure switches. They're knocking them out for £30 plus p&p, so I thought I'd give it a go. Anyway, I ordered it late on Monday night, and it arrived this morning - so that's a first class service from BAR. I've got it mounted up on my R-10, and had a little play with it. Seems of reasonable qua
  3. Haha, have some faith in yourself mate. It can't go so wrong as to completely ruin the stock, so you'll still be able to shoot in all but the worst of the worst case scenarios!
  4. HAHA DONT YOU BLOODY START!! lol I think im doing to much shooting lately mate, fatigue is setting in, maybe give it a rest for a few weeks Touched a nerve did I mate? Haha. I can't talk though, I missed the same squirrel three times last week. It didn't even move. After the third shot I decided enough was enough and fecked off!
  5. Interesting read that mate. I'm not going to patronise you by suggesting some of the things that could have been to blame, but we all have off days- maybe this was yours? (Although you had one recently, didn't you? :tongue2: ). All the same, great write up and photos Millsy, as always. SPA.
  6. I'll say it before someone else does... WRONG SECTION!
  7. Mole, what makes you think these swans have been killed for food? I shoot stuff for food, and I find it useful to take the carcass with me when I leave.
  8. Glad you're getting out and about again Rakey. Good write up and photos. SPA.
  9. Well done Karpman - I'd like to see more pictures of your new look stock!
  10. I haven't seen that story myself, but you're right - it's people like this that will cause us all to suffer in the long run.
  11. Nice one Bill, look forward to seeing some photos of the rifle and your results with it mate.
  12. Did you move this thread into this section Davy If not It is very much in the correct section. It`s Moles account of a night out shooting bud,, This is where it should be, no?? Those were my exact thoughts Rakey.
  13. I didn't answer about rabbits and squirrels earlier, but yes, the whole of the UK is a Rabbit Clearance zone under the Wildlife and Countryside Act - what this means is that the land owner or occupier actually has a responsibility to control the rabbits. Squirrels, as rossy_j mentioned are an alien species so are therefore a 'shoot on sight' pest.
  14. In theory, your pestie pal is right - to satisfy the terms of the general license, there must be a reason to kill the species. Even indoors (for example a pigeon gets into a supermarket), technically, shooting should only be carried out after a period where all other methods of removing the bird (trying to encourage it to fly out etc) have failed. I think there may be a little variation across the UK, but you can also legally shoot the birds to prevent the spread of disease or to preserve air safety (although this is unlikely to affect us airgunners). Your golf course for example...yo
  15. That's not actually true, but for some reason it has been continually reported as such due to the media deciding to turn Tony Martin into the 'People's champion'. I personally know many of the police officers that were involved in the case at the time, and the lad that was killed was actually executed - shot in the lower back at point blank range as he climbed through a window. He blew a hole in the lads body, and they recovered the cartridge wadding from his flesh. He then shot at the other fella as well. While I agree that the judge took the right line in this case, nobody was ki
  16. I've owned both, and have to say it's a difficult one to call. For me, the R10 is far nicer looking rifle, (I had the Mk1 SuperTen, which is probably the ugliest gun ever made though!) - but that aside there's not a lot to choose between them. the bolt system is a little different, but it's up to you really. You'll probably get a SuperTen for less money than an R10, and it'll shoot just as well. In fact, while I very much doubt I'll ever sell my R10, it's possible that I'll add another SuperTen to my collection one day.
  17. Great write up Silent mate, really enjoyed reading that. Slut point from me.
  18. I'm inclined to agree with what you're saying too!
  19. Nice one mate, well done. Anyone who says that they've never done something similar is a liar if you ask me!
  20. Top stuff chaps, glad to see you had a little more luck yesterday than I did! I shot so badly I could have thrown my gun in the river! After three consecutive misses on the same squirrel (!!) I swore very loudly and called it a day! Nice write up mate, would love to see some photos! Hope you get a scope sorted out soon!
  21. hi Ron i am sure you will buddy regards Davy Cheers Davy- looks likely that I'll be in a much better place by then, thank the lord! My girlfriend has shown an interest in coming too, any objections from the floor?
  22. Hahah, again, this is brilliant. I didn't see the AGF thread as it got taken down before I had a change to get online, but I saw that it ran into 20 odd pages. While I'm sure you're not shafting anybody here Steve, you have to see where the other lads on here are coming from.
  23. Have to agree with most of what's been said. Personally, if I were you with that budget, I'd look at something second hand. You should be able to pick up an Air Arms S410 or a BSA Ultra, as mentioned, plus charging gear and scope for that money. Don't write off springers though, might be just the thing for you. I'd be considering anything Weihrauch or Air Arms if I were you.
  24. haha, I did a feral clearance for a mate of mine a year or so back, and a few of them were ringed, his response was "I don't care if they're ringed or not, they're still shitting in my cattle's water troughs!" I guess they're the most literal of feral pigeons! Anyway, nice bag Stuart, well done mate. What rifle were you using? Ron.
