  1. Moley will be along shortly to sing the praises of Hatsan! And I'm sure several people that know what they're talking about will be along to put him straight!
  2. Yes. V Mach all the way. Steve Pope tuned my HW95 and it has never felt so nice.
  3. Hands down the worst piece of advice I have ever read in relation to pest control! Secondary poisoning is an issue, of that there is no question, but a dog (obviously depending on the breed and size) will have to eat a good few rats before it comes to any harm! Active ingredient concentrations in rodenticides are calculated using whats called LD50 (Lethal Dose 50) - if you're interested, Google it and you should get a decent explanation. If you're not a pro pest controller (and I assume by the fact you're asking this question that you're not) I would advise against using rodenticides.
  4. You really make me laugh a lot Mole. With respect, your write ups don't exactly convey a great deal of actual shooting on your trips to the field - I'd be amazed if Mrs Mole ever requires an 'emergency in field top up'! You'll be doing very well to be using more than 40 shots, don't you think?!?
  5. Have a look at the thread that Moley linked you too, there's some very good detail in there. Please don't listen to him regarding the Hatsan though.
  6. Fair enough buddy - you don't like to get too attached do you?!
  7. Always liked the look of these rifles. A friend of mine used to have a the Goldstar some years back - I always fancied one or the other. I'd never put an OX spring in any of my rifles personally though!
  8. I'm not a sales rep for parcelforce, honestly, and I don't really care - but parcelforce do that too!
  9. Good on you for that Moley. I personally use a Hills pump, and have no problems with it whatsoever. I use an R10 and an Ultra. I can have the Ultra at 232bar from just about empty in about three minutes. Obviously it takes a lot longer to fill the R10, but I always just top it up after using it, and never have to pump for more than a couple of minutes. Perhaps if I was buying my gear again, I would have gone for a divers bottle, but the pump works - and it never runs out! Oh, also - Parcelforce is trackable!
  10. There's been tonnes written about bipods and spring rifles on this forum - do a search to find out why it's a no no. The rifle will do the job for you though mate. If you get one, it may be worth considering fitting a gas ram in place of the spring as they're a bit clanky and noisy. Personally, in your shoes I would be considering a Weihrauch HW95 over the Lightning.
  11. Great write up as always Simon. Loved reading that. SPA.
  12. Great read Davy, and great shooting - as always! Out of interest, are you merely the custodian of Si's HW100...or are you now it's permanent owner?
  13. I'm going to be trying Falcon Accuracy Plus pellets in my .22 R10 as well. I'm also interested in trying the new Daystate Rangemaster Li pellets. I'll get a tin of each over the coming weeks and let you know how I fare with them! Millsy...I think you'll love the R10 mate. I absolutely adore mine, and as I've said in previous posts, I can't imagine ever selling it (although I'm sure others will come and go alongside it!) I had a Mk1 S10 years ago, and while the R10 is no better for accuracy, it feels much nicer and certainly looks a great deal better than the original S10. That said
  14. I wonder about you more and more every single day Moley. Seriously.
  15. Very nice moley...although you don't mention what it is!
  16. If I had that money and wanted to buy brand new rifle, I'd be looking at SMK long before I considered a Hatstand! The SMK XS19 and XS20 (XS38 if you're a fan of underlevers) are powerhouses! They'll more than do the job you want, and they respond very nicely to a tune up, which is something you can look at further down the line. I personally still think you should look for a used HW or Air Arms though.
  17. lol i thought about that mate but 1st i was afraid i was petrified ... atb gary Get your coat mate...
  18. Some interesting points made here guys. Possibly the most constructive calibre debate thread I've seen on here. I'm still sick of reading them though Anyway, Simon (pianoman), SPA for your initial response.
  19. Happy birthday mate! Not sure to be honest - are you sure it's knackered and not a battery fault? (with the new battery)
  20. Nice one Scott, sounds like a productive little patch you have there! Look forward to more write ups from you! *edited to add* SPA - consistently good write ups from you pal!
  21. Mole, I assume you mean the clay was shot at once it had landed? I'm not sure we should be advocating shooting at flying objects!
  22. Well done though pal, and good luck on the new permission!
  23. Well done buddy, great shooting. Have a slut point on me.
  24. Perfectly normal - I can't explain it personally, but I'm sure one of the lads on here will be able too. Altering anything on the rifle- particularly at the muzzle end will effect the POI, but as long as it's grouping correctly, then worry not, just re-zero and be happy!
