  1. This is a fairly commonly asked question, and as usual, the right answer has been given! You won't go wrong with an HW95K. I'm a big fan of BSA pre-charged rifles, but I personally feel that the quality of their spring rifles is miles behind Weihrauch. The Air Arms spring rifles, such as the ProSport that has been mentioned are also awesome, but I have a feeling the HW95K is the rifle for you. If you wanted to be a bit controversial, then it might be worth considering an SMK XS20. Don't shout me down here gents- if you're prepared to put in a little effort with tuning etc, these
  2. Great shooting pal, keep at them!
  3. yes, PLEASE be aware of this! Our sport has taken such a hammering in recent weeks that it is each and everyone of our collective responsibility to prove that airguns and airgunners are to be trusted!
  4. Not sure about that myself buddy, preferred it the way it was...but good on you for having the balls to do it, and if you're happy, then who cares what I think?!
  5. It can be pretty confusing mate, so don't worry!
  6. No, that's not correct at all. Always hold-under when shooting at an incline! How much so depends very much on a variety of factors including the angle of incline, range and the velocity of your pellet. Do a search on here, there's a very good piece written by Si (Zini) that I seem to remember reading on the subject a while back.
  7. I still don't get what you're asking really? I don't see how it could 'come back' towards your face? It's not under any pressure, so how can it 'fail' as you put it? The bolt indexes the magazine and the probe loads the pellet into the breech. Not sure there's any room for failure with such a system. And even if all of that did fail, and magically the bolt 'shot back' - it's only about 2 inches long! If your face is that close to the action, it's time to consider changing your technique!!
  8. You have a very active imagination, Mole.
  9. Good on you lads! Looks a great night's work.
  10. Thanks everyone. Simon, yes it is full length. It's completely standard at the moment, with an HW silencer (bough from Si). I'm planning on having the barrel shroud shortened too though, much like Si's, by Adrian at A&M just as soon as I can free the currency! Even straight out of the box as this one is, it's a superb rifle, and you'd be wise to consider one if you are resigned to getting a precharged rifle! Si, mine also likes Accupells, Superdomes and Daystate Rangemaster Li's. Not fussy at all really! I'd like to try the RWS Superfields and perhaps some FX pellets (my .177 u
  11. Thank you gents! Hope you get your crows Markha! .22 mate, using Falcon Accuracy Plus pellets at the moment. As shabby as they look, they're doing the business in my R10!
  12. Okay, I know there's already a topic relating to this but as it's a pinned topic, I thought that this post is likely to get more views. Is there anybody going from the Peterborough/Northamptonshire area that would like a lift? I'll be driving across from North Norfolk, so it would make sense to pick you up on the way if you're going, and maybe share a little of the fuel cost? Just an idea, if this applies then reply or PM. Cheers all!
  13. Now then airgunners! I haven't been able to get out as much as I would like recently (who can?) so I've been chomping at the bit! The owner of one of my permissions has been on the phone a lot recently about the rabbits in his garden. The trouble is, he's an hours drive away, so I just haven't had opportunity to get there. Anyway, with no work on today, I set myself up for an early start, planning to get there just before first light. The permission is about three or four acres of what used to be paddocks, but has been turned into ornamental gardens. The bulk of it is rabbit fen
  14. They look just like Accupells or Premiers! They scream quality though. I had a look through and didn't find a single one the was damaged or mis-shaped. Was a little disappointed with their grouping, but we'll see how I fare next time.
  15. There's a Hatsan AT44 somewhere in Norfolk that won't be getting a lot of use now.
  16. Haha, I know. I couldn't believe what was happening. I can't explain that at all...it was especially windy while I was taking those particular shots, but the grouping was ridiculous.
  17. Now then! I've recently taken delivery of a tin of Falcon Accuracy Plus, and a tin of the new Daystate Rangemaster Li pellets, both in .22 for use in my BSA R10. I've been a faithful AccuPell user for years, and have never had any issues with them, in either my HW95K, or my R10, or before that my old Mk1 SuperTen. However, after reading a few bits and pieces regarding these other two pellets, I thought I'd get some to put them to the test. While I was at it, I figured it would be worthwhile testing every other brand of pellets I can get my hands on. I had a root around the house
  18. Great shooting Karpman. Enjoyed the write up too. Keep at them!
  19. I'd think that's £500 of anybody's money.
  20. Well done mate, you'll love the R10! Let us know when you get it!
  21. I've got an R10 and an Ultra Tactical .177 single shot - but no mate, I'd be keeping both. Just fancy a .22 Ultra.
  22. If this is a .22 I'll be very tempted...
  23. You really make me laugh a lot Mole. With respect, your write ups don't exactly convey a great deal of actual shooting on your trips to the field - I'd be amazed if Mrs Mole ever requires an 'emergency in field top up'! You'll be doing very well to be using more than 40 shots, don't you think?!? Mrs Mole can forget how many shots she has fired you know, and her Air Arms does not have a pressure gauge on it! Simple thing to forget to do, get back late, after a day out shooting, allowing for checking zero etc, you may shoot more than you remember! My shooting trip write ups do not have
