  1. I have taken a couple of minks since last post, but now written about it lol. Today we went out with my 9 1/2 month old fox terrier pup to a small island I knew there are minks. After while he tracked down and killed a mink all by himself, thats a good dog
  2. I would wait atleast untill your dogs are 1 year old, before I send them into a fox's den. All dogs are individuals, but a fox can scare a young dog so much that it wont go into a den later. Train your dogs on rats and other small vermins and go for the fox den later
  3. Create a account on www.youtube.com or if u already have one, just upload your video there and then post it here
  4. without soundin like a complete idiot whos he? Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer
  5. Got a call from a mate today, who had seen a mink going on to a small island. I went with my two fox terriers and we soon found a litter with some minkpups under a big stone. Had to work hard and long before we got them, they are so small that they get into the smallest places and will not move like fullgrown mink usually do. Ended up with 4 minks, didn't see or find the mother, guess she's still there somewhere. Here's today catch

  7. I uploaded a old clip form last summer, not the best quality and some wind noise. Its my dachs, my fox terrier and crossmix between dachs/foxhound wich I dont have anymore. The crossmix is good on roedeer and hare, but a little to weak on anything who could bite back lol I sold it to a roedeer hunter. I hope u enjoy the movie, have a nice weekend
  8. Here in Norway the most popular terriers for going into the fox den is: -Smooth Haired Fox Terrier -German Hunting Terrier, usually to hard and tough.... -Border Terrier -Parson Russel Terrier Some hunters also use Dachs, both smooth and wire haired.
  9. Yes its no problem to register a imported dog as long as its registered in its country of origin and that all papers are ok. There where imported 3 male dogs from Russia a couple of years ago, to be used for breeding and hunting offcourse, and they are all registered in Norway now.
  10. How can I get in contact with him, does he have e-mail ? If not, does anyone have pictures of his dogs ? I'm only interested in pedigree dogs with papers, cause we register our litters, so the parents must be registered to. Thx for replying Thorleif
  11. Yeah I know the export/import is the easy part. It doesnt have to be a working line either, showdogs are ok just as long they are small i.e correct size according to written standard. Male dogs should be between 7,3 – 8,2 kg and bitches between 6,8 – 7,7 kg. As I mentioned in previous post, show dogs here in scandinavia are 12-14 kg (50/70%) oversize Our working dogs are good enough, but we want new blood for breeding to avoid inbreeding
  12. Me and a friend on mine would like to get in contact with breeders in UK who are interested in selling Smooth haired Fox Terriers. Preferably a show champion with the correct size and look. I've been in contact with The Fox Terrier Club but it seemed like they where all anti-hunting and not very interested to sell dogs. In Norway u can split the Fox terriers race in two. There is the big showdogs up to 13-14 kgs not usuable for hunting at all and there is the hunting Fox terriers, small of size and very good earthdogs. Dont ask me why the breeders make them so big or why the show jud
  13. Almost forgot to tell u how I found this interesting site. A friend told me that someone has posted movies, wich I uploaded to youtube, here on this forum. U can read about those videos here Mink Hunt Video Updated I appreciate the comments, the 3 first videos are mine. U can see pictures of me and my dogs on page 2 in that tread.
  14. Hi, my name is Thorleif Thorsen, I'm close to 34 years old and I'm from Norway. I live on the west coast of Norway, in a city called Haugesund, click here if u wanna know , but was born and raised on a small island just outside Haugesund. I have been interested in guns and hunting for as long as I can remember, still remember my late grandfathers stories about old adventures lol The first dog i hunted with was a collie called Lassie, she was very good to find and kill mink, it wasnt mine. That dog used to follow us and if there was a mink around, she found it and very often killed it herse
  15. Here is my pedigree dogs I use the dachs and fox terrier combined on minkhunting. the dachs is a very good scent dog and the terrier ahs the speed and agility, very good combination for this kind of hunting. I normally use a shotgun, but its not always safe to shoot because of the dogs. Heres my fox terrier puppy, I think this one is gonna be a very good hunting dog. I own the mother and the father is imported from Russia, owned by a friend of mine. its of 100% hunting bloodlines, no showdogs in this blood. I normally dont go to shows, because they tend to give the big dogs the best
  16. Hi I'm the one who posted these videos on youtube, thx for the nice comments I'm soon 34 years old and has been hunting since I was kid, has owned dogs for the last 8 years. And as u guess, I'm from Norway I own 1 male dachs soon 6 years old, 1 fox terrier bitch ( 4,5 years old) and a male puppy from here first litter, now 8 months old. First video is filmed by a friend of mine, I'm the one trying to look under the big stone and I'm the one whos shooting. Bad shoot, but my dog pulled it out and finnished it. The male dachs is the one with the funny voice, the other dachs is a bi
