  2. Went for a wee stroll yesterday, the kids and I. Went up the Commeraghs, what a lovely spot, the kids had a good workout As you can see the locals werent fussed. The daughters face was the same shade as her jogging suit What a stunning spot
  3. Why not try mink of magnesia works for me
  4. AT LAST,thank you Whister and Showman.
  5. Shes bloody hard all round, hard work to keep and hard worker.
  6. The reason you never hear of E/B's working is because they're FAT USELESS b*****ds but your right they for some reason produce a worker or two.Shay I have to say she is a stunner,if you ever want rid of her for a fair price let me know, and yeah I know the answer allready,NO CHANCE.I had a few half bulls over the years and they were very bloody argumentitive, would work till they dropped(and some did)but once bred back to a good small russel they then produced some fine workers.I would prefer a hard dog anyway but the time they spent laid up was a bit of a drawback plus you had to pick your spo
  7. all right lads outside Munster so,a company that can deliver preferably,I thought you lads had your fingers on the pulse I'm looking for kennel partitions that maybe slot together or something similar.Come on now dont be shy, tell me all ya know.
  8. This is a pic of my mates bitch, she is a mixture of working terriers, there is some Patterdale,E.bull and fell terrier. This is her 1st serious season, she has proved to be a real game terrier so far.Yesterday this bitch was dug to on 3 seperate occasions, the result being a succesful climax to each dig. This morning a farmer friend was waiting for us to sort out a lamb killer,to be honest its the 1st time we actually had a call out of this nature in years. We have taken foxes within season just before lambing which prevented any late night raids on the newly born stock.Since we started to hit the
  9. Anyone able to recomend a company that makes kennel fromts and side pannels that can be bolted onto the wall and floor.Preferably in the Cork or Munster region.Any info would be much appreciated,Jigsaw.
  10. Adding to this post I'd like to ask another question,Would you be happy with a dog that turned out to be an average to good hunting companion or dissapointed it didnt turn out to be that exceptional game taker you would like to have.I have a 6 month old lurcher pup and I'm hoping to turn him into a handy dog.I'm not expecting a world beater, but if he came that way no complaints. All one can do is give him basic training and hope his breeding supplies everything else.If he is a good ferreting dog and a decent tryer on the lamp, plus an enjoyable dog to have around you then I'm happy.
  11. I have used these for a while now and after a time they seized up also.I use a smaller version though.I just have to remember to oil them regular.Do you have any problem with the ferrets falling out of the hutch when you open the front Woodchip?i've had a few hit the deck over the years when they rush the front of the box.I'm going to have to adjust the hutches over the summer months I reckon and place the hinges either on the side like yours or the top.The big problem here is the bloody weather,it never stops raining.Plus I must admit neglect on my behalf,I dont oil regulary.
  12. Beautiful pup kris but whats happening with mates these days,I couldnt sell a dog to a mate and look him in the face again for a month If I ever breed a litter I usually give away the pup to genuine mates and dog men.Not meaning to spoil the thread but its sad to see the dog world so money orientated.Hope you have a cracker of a worker on your hands mate, and it may be the best few quid you've ever spent.Good luck with him,Jigsaw.
  13. Ive used brass hinges, just wondering if you ingenious lot had better systems, thanks for the replys,
  14. Chief I did think of that but when the hutch is opened the ferrets launch themselves out and they fall onto the floor below. In the past I've had ferrets that have been knocked out from this,I've tried to get stainless steel hinges but the builders providers only do very wide hinges,I'll take a look at Screwfix BF and see if they have what I need, thanks
  15. Can anyone help me please,I have 4 ferret boxes and at the moment 3 of them have seized hinges.I have to take off the hinge and dump it,it rusts and seizes up from the ferrets piss and the weather. Is there any better way around this,I replace the hinges every 4-6 months due to this problem. The timber looks a little moth eaten around where the screws were holding the hinge in.As you can imagine there are a lot of old screw holes now and I'm running out of places to drive in the screws. If anyone has a way around this or knows of a hinge thats piss proof please let me know.I've had brass hinges,
  16. Elma-fudd,you have to agree though, that Jordan was built for comfort not for speed.I'd have to go to the gym for a month to keep up with her,but I'd give it my best shot
  17. JORDAN,I'd love to bend her over and give her a little slap and then............kick the shit out of that ghoul shes married to,Peter F***in Andre
  18. For all interested, the pups are>collie/greyhound/pit/greyhoundXwhippet/greyhound(blue boy). We'll keep tabs on how they do next season Chubs, should be interesting.
  19. She is a beaut Chubbs thanks for a photo as I have her brother.I was out this morning with my lad and he coursed and caught a wee one again today.I have him holding the rabbits in the purse nets now and he doesnt pull on them anymore.I find my lad listens to everything you tell him. He's a bit of a whinger in kennels but a delight to own.Keep in touch with the progress of your pup if you dont mind, good hunting with your pup,JIGSAW
  20. Did you get her amongst the sheep yet Frank?Another while and she'll be retrieving lambs to you Get yer finger out man
  21. I hope you wont mind me asking but what breed of lurcher is the dog you had in a recent post, the red merle type.Would it be Aussie cattle dogX greyhound. Its a stunning looking animal.By the way if you ever have one you'd like to give to a good working home,I think I just might squeeze it in somewhere,(possibly the master bedroom if needs be )I have to say too that we once met in Nottingham at a gamefair in 1985.I was with a chap from the Thames Valley lurcher society,I actually remember his address but for the life of me cant remember his name,he lived in Speen,Newbury,Berks. We had a 20 minut
