I've had 2 litters eaten by the jills in the last 2 weeks.They are housed on their own away from the dogs,no chance of anyone or anything disturbing them and in the 1st litter there were 10 and in the 2cd there were 3,from all 13 kits I have 1 left.i have bred many a litter over the years with no problems but this year I just dont know what happened.

Hes taken quiet a few with the D/HXG.H and the D/H bitch has taken a few,but they wouldnt be as good as a lurcher he openly admits. The D/H dog is too large and a little too slow to get on terms with the bunnys,he has taken a good number but its not his forte I'm told.DH the hounds are originally from Bill Doherty,(I think thats his name) My mate is well into the breed and enjoys working them,he always says if you want to catch a lot more game use a lurcher.Another mate of mine keeps lurchers and hints on flat pasture fields and he went to the Deerhounds territory for a weekend of coursing,aft

I myself have not seen these dogs run.....YET,but that was the purpose of the weekend,I'm booked in to see the action next winter.A few of my mates have seen them and said the drive they have after game is very surprising,at home they are laid back but in the field they are determined.BRAN his dogs cant get up to a hare fast enough in flat small fields,he has told me all about them.He never bigs em up,he's straight talking,no bull.He put a 3 year old dog to sleep only last week as he wasnt up to much.He believes a good lurcher would in general burn the legs off of his D/hounds in normal circum

I went to visit a mate of mine at the weekend and was blown away by his new kennel set up and his hunting permission.The 1st pic is of the kennels hes just built,not quiet finished yet but you'll see the class effort and cost that went into it.He is adding a kitchen onto his kennels soon and has heating inside the building that supplies the house and kennels.i always thought my kennels wern't bad but they're pure shit compared to this set up. I was actually with the owner of the deerhound they supposedly killed in the film only yesterday,hes a good friend of mine.He keeps a lot of deerhounds and pictures are coming real soon,cant find the damn lead to upload the pics onto the computer.A brilliant film.So true to life,and the accents were spot on I thought.

Lurcher lass theres a show on 22cd of july in the village of Adaire,co.Limerick.Its got all the usual classes and a few classes for wheatons,staffs,etc etc.It should be a good show.Was very enjoyable last year.26 -26 of August,Birr Castle game fair.Usually a good day out.

Should bring back memories as I once was a fan of the trials,only got a few years out of it as they dissapeared rather quickly.Mr.Burns must paint an elaborate picture for all those that are unfamiliar with the trials.How points were marked,and how they were run.Him writing so elequently on the subject allready it shouldn,t be a problem......now should it

A mate was saying to weld a nut into the neck of the shovel and get stainless 1" pipe and thread the end and screw the 2 together,same for t handle piece.What do you think.Any pics of one finished?

Gaz all the dogs are on the other side of the yard.Plus the cages are 5 feet off the ground.Not a hope of anyone getting near them,3 gates to get through and the dogs are mental if a stranger walks in on their own.What the hell,just 1 of those things,we wont get too worked up over it.Irish lurcher yer a messer boy Good show on 22cd of July IL in Adaire for all catagories,you going,I'll be there,aint that a good reason to be there.

went out to feed the jills rearing young this morning before I went to work.As I was feeding them I thought the nest was a little too quiet for my liking.While the jill was feeding I took a look and all I saw was a half eaten kit.They would have been 5 weeks tommorow and am flummoxed as to why she ate the 3 kits.Its a shame really as the jill is very good at her job.I was hoping to keep 1 kit and had 1 other promised so far,aint life a bitch

That adds a new use for big hobs I have a very small jill at the moment rearing 10 young uns,shes a little scatty where the kits are concerned and not the best mother in the world but I am looking forward to working 1 or 2 in the future as she was mated to my silver hob which was mustard at his job as is the jill.hopefully the young will be as good
