My Jill has just had 4 young uns yesterday,a late litter.I had 2 litters this season and none survived,both jills ate the lot.I had 1 litter to 5 weeks and eaten.The 2 jills I bred were last years breeding.Cant explain what happened with them as they are seperated from the kennels,quiet area and all were well fed and tended for.Its my 1st time in 20 years loosing a litter,but to loose 2.....cant understand it.So hopefully this lot will make it.The jill I bred from is called the rat as she is quiet small but a very good worker.Shes 4 yrs old now and this will be her 1st litter if she rears them

I've kept bull terriers for near on 30 yrs and a treadmill is a great tool on getting a dog to peak fitness,all this bullshit on lazy barstewards only using mills is horse shite.I walk as much as anyone but still find a mill invaluable.I get one of the kids to stay with the dogs while I walk the others in the yard.When you have a full kennel the mill makes a difference.In the last week I sold a mill to a mate.Without it I would have struggled to maintain the fitness of the dogs I kept.I reckon a lot of the comments come from people with little or no experience of mill work.

Doxhope being new to the deerhounds what would you use to breed down to.I may in time take a pup of deerhound breeding,or mix breeding.I'd be very keen to pick your brains on this matter.

Foxdog hes 31"tts,I have said allready that I havnt seen these dogs in action,but a mate of mine and a good all round lurcher fan has been down last winter and insists they are decent dogs on the hare and he said I'd be surprised when I see them hunting up with their sense of smell.They flush pheasant all the time they are out,and you know what I'm bleeding looking forward to it.The owners of the deerhounds told me not to expect the lightening fast reaction you'd see from a lurcher but he promised I'd be pleasantly surprised when they get started.To me this is the delights of country sports,I'

Jesus Christ shes a scary looking lady,see the fear in his eyes,The dog is limited as far as progressing is concerned,I cant get him to walk on a leash and he still is reluctant to let you touch him but he is a lot better than what he was.I dont think he'll make the grade for work or as a pet.I'll try him this winter and then decide what is best for him.Where do I find my setting for my avator please.

Some new pics of the brother of the deerhound bitch,this dog has some temper and once riled up hes a determined sort. The dog takes anything asked of him,although he needs a big place to come up on his hares initially,he jumps ditches and fences for fun. Here again is his sister below Here is another mate showing his 3/4 deerhound-1/4 grey hound bitch.Shes an all round dog.Has taken hares consistantly and fox with ease, takes good heads of rabbits on the lamp .

I've had 2 litters eaten by the jills in the last 2 weeks.They are housed on their own away from the dogs,no chance of anyone or anything disturbing them and in the 1st litter there were 10 and in the 2cd there were 3,from all 13 kits I have 1 left.i have bred many a litter over the years with no problems but this year I just dont know what happened.
