yeah guys I know it was the right thing to do,I was very attached to the dog and I have no guilty feelings doing what I did.I did the poor b*****d a favour, but the dog was really more than a working dog he was a family pet too.Jaysus I'm getting old, soft as putty im becoming Wait for Irish lurchers attack on a sensitive little man like me now,i brace myself for the onslaught, lol

IRISHLURCHER if I meet you I'll put you to sleep ye ghoulbag,I was 40 miles from home in the wilderness, you never saw that cause ye live in a big city full of smog and scumbags, lol.Us countryfolk are different to you's lot,PEOPLE IN THE KNOW........criminals dont really count in my book.oh yeah heres one for ye, I know there was no other option but to put the poor blighter to sleep just wondering what the law was.I'd do it again no problem if I had to.
  10. IM DEDICATED IM DEDICATED,lol.Well I wont grovel but I will work it well and I keep 1 lurcher only so I like an all round dog,I use it with the gun, nets, lamp, bushing,I am sometimes asked to deal with foxes and I hold high hopes of getting a dog to mark and flush both feather and fur on its own account. What more can I say.And if you would like to do a hiome check thats ok too, lol.I live in hope.I saw a litter of collie X's last week but they were bred willy nillie,no good blood there i thought.
  11. Rabbit,fox,hare,GOATS.....wild of course, rat and once an old but still elusive sheep(ram)that was uncatchable in the hills.he had very bad foot problems but we were requested to let a dog grab him and he was shot as his wool was matted and had large growths on his legs and side of his head.he was immediately put straight into the food chain........only joking we buried him.lol

    dont know

so i'll ask.As you know i had to put my lurcher to sleep after he smashed both his front legs 2 weeks ago.I was in a position where for the sake of the dog and on humanatarian grounds I had to put him out of his pain on the spot.it was the only proper thing to do.In such circumstances how does the law look upon this.Is it an offence to end the life of a pet yourself or is it necessary to get a fully trained and highly expensive vetenary surgeon to do the dastardly deed.In other circumstances, whatever they may be,is it actually an offence to quickly and humanely end the life of your animal.Weth
  13. i would prefer to buy from a lad or lassie that works the parents but i may go down that road in the end.i am interested in a 3/4 bred g.hound collie.there scarce on the ground it seems.
  14. at the moment im trying to arrange to get a pup from norfolk but i dont think its going to happen.i am having problems transporting it back.the bloke that delivers the dogs doesnt travel that far over,if theres any colie bred pups for sale at the moment drop me a line and i'll arrange to do a feal.

  22. lets see other crosses doing stuff you wouldnt expect them to do.i have no idea what that could be so i look forward to your results.I was thinking maybe working with the gun, squiggy killing,or something really weird and wonderful.I didnt expect my dog to break his two front legs last week but that doesnt come under what i had in mind, lol.
  23. i think so too redrob,i just thought it would be an interesting post to put up.I am not trying to say that they are all just fox deer killing machines,i had a few dogs i put a lot of time and effort into and they still didnt make a high enough standard, now that could be down to my efforts, but once i know the dog is really trying to do his job and please me im satisfied with that.I was really hoping that someone had a real versatile mutt, there are a few on here that seem to be fairly decent dogs, and i expect there are members here that just dont like to boast and dont feel the need to but own
