I was out last Wednesday picking up a few rabbits with the ferrets for a farmer friend and we were having a nice relaxed day.We being Taz my kelpie x and Samra the saluki pup.I did a few easy ground burrows as this was not going to turn into a serious ferreting trip.I picked up a pair in the first warren and a single in the next.Well on the 3 rd Samra was geting interested.Taz picked a 3/4 grown rabbit and retrieved it back.Samra walking along side mouthing the live and kicking rabbit.Next warren a 1/2 grown rabbit made a run for it,Taz ran it,made an attempt to pick it.The rabbit seeing it co

  5. Well as I say I wouldnt have the experience to say wether they were as good as they come or not but they do get out and work the dogs. There was a cream lurcher on it and it was far superior than the others I thought, but I may be wrong on that too lol.
  6. Just saw the dvd for the 1st time.I am not a fox lamping participant so I ask for your opinion. How do the the dogs on the dvd rate as fox controllers?I thought when they connected they were very effiecent, though I thought 1 or 2 may be lacking in some departments, but again if these were young dogs learning their trade they would make ye proud. They certainly mopped up the foxes with 7's and such in the bag.1 thing I thought too is they showed the dogs in all aspects of the sport,no glossing over, they showed the misses too which I thought was very fair of them.I watched and sometimes I gasped an

  13. sam i wouldnt consider it jacking, permission and good realations with the farmer comes first.personally theres no place for an unsteady dog no matter how good at his job he is.I spend a load of time around the sheep and i want to be relaxed doing my thing not wondering what is happening when the dogs are out of sight. The shock collar might be the job let me know how it works.Great credit for not giving up and she still is young.
  14. Sam3009,if you started the pup at a very young age and up to now it still hasnt excepted stock, then I reckon it never will. Most of my bull terriers over the years were stock steady but well up for a chase of most other things. It becomes a personal decision what to do with the animal after that, but dogs with huge prey drive do not take to anything that run about wildly.I had a bullxgreyhound 12 years ago that although was steady to stock when calm was just unpredictable when on game.I gave it to a mate as a draw dog and informed him of his instabilities, later on I heard he made contact with th
