  1. interesting replys,i obviously dont fall for all that fairy stuff either or i wouldnt have dug game in so many of them.My mate that lived locally would take us about to new earths he found and while driving hed stop the car and point out a fort and tell us to dig it the next day he wasnt about, and I can tell you this bloke was a giant of a man(still is).He played rugby for the local team and could drink most people under the table but boy was he supersticious.I once saw him shoot a rabbit with a.22 and the rabbit ran into a fort and droped in there,I had to go get him as he wouldnt go into it
  2. your right,my hunting partner is a wee chappie,as for him cursing me,defo if he reads this
  3. after reading a topic a while back I noticed a few comments on the above,I was just wondering how many on here are supersticious and wouldnt dig a fort.I was with a local lad for years and he refused point blank to enter one,we just dug the shit out of them but i have to say ive had my fair share of bad luck over the years, was it because of entering a terrier into a fort or just SHIT HAPPENS.Have you english lads got forts to dig in or is it an Irish thing.I must have dug in dozens of forts over the years, who else has dug these and who would refuse point blank to intefere in one and why?

and tomo, the best thing is theyre cheap as chips.10-15 seconds with a steel cutting blade and the carcass is halved, then quartered and then out with the knives and finish the job in no time.if you handle a few deer each season, buy the saw.

A private estate in Munster is overrun(the owners words not mine)with fallow and need to be sorted I was told,so I organised a day out and a pricket was taken. It ended up on my table and I attempted to butcher it with the help of youtube.i bought a sabresaw and what ajob it does to quarter and seperate the carcass. It goes through the leg bones like butter and the spine is no problem either.I can split it down the centre in seconds. One question I have to ask is,how would we be fixed if stoped by the police and a deer found in the van.I have written permission to take them which I carry on my pe
