the only input i might add here is a bloke in ireland had a savage rottie bitch incapacitated in minutes by a thief/thieves.i wont say how in case it might be used again but the dog had to be put down an hour later.his 3 terriers were taken then from secured kennels.how are you supposed to solve this i ask.

neal shes an agreeable lady, wants a 2cd session soon,SHE JUST LURVES THE CAMERA I just like a certain ammount of obedience in a dog,i am fairly flexible i think though,I'll probably be telling everyone shes the best dog in the world if shes half decent in the field, lol.thanks again for the input everyone.

well ive stuck to her this long im going to give her the season to see how she performs.if she can course and catch then i'll probably be satisfied and she may rectify her little quirkes.thanks again for your views, very interesting reading.I have to say its the first running dog ive ever had an isue with, usually I just gel with them so chalkie i do see your point.neal i am the kind of owner that thinks you gota do it my way or no way, where the dog is concened,so maybe its the saluki independence thats happening here.im going to just put up with it for the moment and hopefully the bitch and I w

finding or do you mean feeding?Mark if I dont get her eating every day shed starve to death and thats the truth.ive let her hungry for two days, lifting her food when she hasnt eaten, made no difference.Plus i like to see a pup with good weight. At this time of their lives I think its vital they get good quality food for their future efforts.I have never smacked her or shouted at her but I do show her she must go where and when I tell her to.Shes very obedient other than around the van, goes straight into her kennel when told and stays close to me when out,its just this issue with the van i find a

if that technology were possible id beam a few of the very pretty ladys on here into my living room when the dragons out shoping and then....... :icon_redface:but it could also be used for the first idea also

skycat,i have to feed her seperately from the others or she'd never eat.If i dont do this she gets very thin.I havent been ferreting much as the season hasnt started yet and the cover is high or too dense.I am trying to give the kelpie a lot of work this season also and im thinking the saluki would be beaten to the punch each time shes out by her so i think i need to give her lots of one on one running.I have no problem sliping her on a lead a long way back from the van but I find it very irritating I should have to do this each time im out. When she starts getting work all this may change and

I did phone the police.IT DIDNT HELP,they never turned up.a bit early for them i reckon and believe it or not the same car passed me up the hill where i live at 6 o clock this evening, wheels spining and a dopey 16 year old driving it.imagine in broad daylight when lots of people are heading home after work.the cops are a waste of space .

wilf i'llgive her 1 good season and then if she not up to it i'll do whats necesary,i'll give her a fair crack of the whip first though.a bit of lamping and ferreting and a hare or three, and see where we go from there.there are two things that are issues really, shes avery bad eater and the van crap.I hope thats all that will reveal itself in the future.

At 9 months old I would have thought too much exercise would not be good for bone developement etc.I give her roughly 5 miles at a fast walk with runs in between. You lot reckon she needs a bit more to get her jumping into the van?I'll try it to see if it works but id be a bit concerned about spoiling her phsycially.

I need a box cause I got me a van and im going to use the old cliche and open up another can of worms''IF ONLY YOU WERE NEARER''
-
yeah tomo they are nice little ferreting dogs, well worth the effort i put in.I added up the total cost of buying her, from thepetrol in the car to the tickets for me and the lad to the price it cost to get the car fixed ,food we bought on the way and drinmks, the price of the pup and the total was 1057 euros, now thats a bloody expensive pup but i dont regret having her(be some laugh if she were to turn out a useless mog)but shes a very determined bitch and showing good indication of being half decent if not more.

Bullmastiff I bought a transit t260,low roof. The crew cabs I found out were 1800 euros to get cleared by the customs.kenneling her in the van is a non starter as its parked out the front of the house. She also I might add is a very poor eater and is not in anyway excited by food so much so that I have to lock her away from the other dogs to feed her.Any distraction, even visually seeing another dog in the vicinity is reason enough for her not to eat.i boil rabbit and chicken for her alone as she wont eat the tripe or any type of dog nuts, ive tried her on raw rabbit, chicken, sheep heads, throttles

Some might remember,a few months ago I had a slight problem geting the saluki back to the car,she just doesnt like travelling in the boot I thought. So after I bought the van I thought it wouldnt be an issue.I had the same problem with the trailer.Yesterday I had her out the forestry joging along side the bike with the kelpie and the bull terrier. As we came within 50 yards of the van she stoped and refused to come back.I decided to put away the other 2 dogs first and then sort her out.The little shit would not come to me and to be truthfull I left my young lad sort it out as I was fairly sick o

im sitting hear at this rediculous hour because for the last 2 hrs im listening to a stolen car speeding up and down the road outside, screeching of brakes and somewhere it has crashed into either a wall or another car but is still going hard. Why these fcukin people get a kick out of this sort of pathetic carry on i'll never know.Im bloody tired now but cant sleep with the noise, what i wouldnt give to send both barrells of no.6 through the windscreen at these idiots, yawn.RANT OVER

in 1998 i drove to dublin from cork to buy a pit bitch pup,at the time there was snow all over the country, never saw the pups but the breeder was trustworthy.12 months ago i got the ferry with my son,we drove from cork to rosslare,3 hrs journey.left home at 5.00 a.m.then ferry to pembrooke, drove an hour and a half to the breeders house, picked up the kelpie.stayed till 6 and headed back but on the return journey the car broke down.only for this very decent AA man i might still be stuck on the side of the road,a dried out corpse, lol.got back to the ferry at 1 a.m. then we left at 3 a.m. and got

as in your post, sheep heads for food, free and plentifull and loads of meat.
-
just back from the dentist im waiting on a call for further information on the stolen dogs,as soon as i get it i'll update everyone.if you only knew how the rottie was sorted you wouldnt believe it,no psychical contact was made between man nor beast to incapacitate her,i now realise a guard dog is of no consequence to someone who knows what to do.I reckon its only a handfull of tramps that are doing this.
-
a mate rang me last night,he had 3 terriers taken,2x13 month pups, both are rough haired an roughly 14 inches tts.thei dam is same make ,rough /broken coated with the tattoos of war evident on her face. The dogs were locked into their kennel with big strong padlocks and they were protected by a rottweiller bitch that was well up to the job.I was told how they incapacitated the rotty and you wouldnt believe how easy its done.Im not going to put it up here in case some low life uses it in the future but after hearing this I cant see the point in having a big dog as guard. They cut through the lock
