  11. Their the tastiest to eat,and there were tons born every year so plenty to go around,..at one time there were near 200 goats in a dozen mobs spread over 2 mountain ranges,....I had 25 goats in two large fridges butchered and bagged at one time both for my consumption and the dogs ,... ..
  12. Yeah 15 of them,they eliminated the farmers hedging and he was with me so he wanted a Holocaust type result,lol...I would never have shot so many,I had some job trying to get rid of a few lol
  13. No the forestry commission eradicated them ,after 10 years of fun they haven't been seen in 2 years now
  14. I have to clarify I did take a few with the dog but 90 %were shot ,
  15. Slipping a dog on these lads didn't always go the dogs way ,broken toes or legs were always a possibility,I preferred to stalk and shoot them but the haul back was hoffific at times due to the terrain

The Billy's were big heavy animals and took a bit of holding ,and a large type strong dog has an advantage ,but your correct ,it's not a red hind or fallow stag so no.. nothing to be boasting about ,I know if the opportunity ever came again ,I'd pass on dogging them and choose a rifle,you mentioned a .22,had you success in dropping goats with that caliber? It was a 223 every time for me,...
  17. Received the rod yesterday,..delighted with it ,tidy and simple to carry ,but it's a right good piece of kit,....matching reel is the next thing now lol
  18. The mob of goats I harvested were ferral for over the last 50 years and they were far from easy pickings,...but it's not ideal to be knocking them over with dogs
