Once again the polecat Jill was entered on soon for to work bolting one then all was silent so out with the locator, 2 ft down so the new bulldog graft was called into action reveling 2 rabbits in a stopend, she was still with one that soon bolted, she then showed a few times inside the shed before disappearing and making contact with rabbit number 5, the temp was getting up by dinner time so we called it a day with a total of 18 til next time cheers neil b
  6. This morning saw the second trip of this season,on my way up the dark motorway well before daybreak had the lurcher abit more restless than normal, it wasn't until I felt something crawl onto my lap I knew why.... The ferrets had got out of there box so a quick stop on the hard shoulder to catch them up and get them boxed up,then normal service resumed. Once we got to our chosen destination we could see a few rabbits moving about so things looked good, as the sun rose we started our climb up the fell side waiting to either see a rabbit drop to ground or wait for the lurcher to mark an occupied
  7. you must have some length to your arms, that's 1 hell of a trench
  8. Looks like a good day pal good pics to
  9. If you put a ferret in always be prepared to dig them out what's the point in a ferret killing a rabbit then leaving it below ground, seems a pointless going out if you ask me

  17. Why does it have to be made public knowledge? Surely they could keep it quite only the farmer it is going to affect needs to know
  18. As with any hunting morning it starts off well before day break with a bowl of porrage and a quick slurp of coffee, then it's northbound to meet my hunting partner. Once all the relevant equipment is loaded into the van off we go, whilst meandering through the country lanes as dawn broke we watched 2 barn owls, 1 hunting the other being mobbed by a couple of crows. Once at our chosen destination we collared the ferrets up,got our gear together, including my mates best friend in his pocket we hadn't gone far when the farmer caught us up the quad on his way to check on some stock, he said there
  19. Right lads what's your gym routines here's mine
  20. Maybe something for the mods to see if they can sort it out
  21. After lining a total of 5 Jill's to 3 different hobs and not providing a single kit I asked on here for any advise but none came, so a chat to my vet came up with the possible problem septicocklecanulas ( not sure if that's how it's spelt) an internal infection, so a 5 day course of clavudale 50 mg anti- biotics should clear it up, then he advised re dosing upon mating next spring, so fingers crossed it works otherwise a bloodline 30years old could be lost, cheers Neil b

    Top Tips

If you share your permission with fellow hunters ferret that first then move onto your own permission, there's nothing worse than starting the season off really well then tailing off at the end

    Top Tips

Keep all the same colour nets the same length for example, red = 3ft blue=3ft 6 green=4ft ect that way your not going through your net bag looking for a suitable net,
