  1. Well you won’t catch em sat at home, seasons are short enough as it is without the weather causing you to miss days out.

With the thermometer reading -5 in the truck we knew on the tops it would be fresh to say the least, my plan was to carry on were I left off last week, so on my way through the snow covered ground I trudged, Nell was soon marking an occupied Warren I set the longnet were I thought the holes could be, the snow had covered most of them, suddenly contact was heard and and explosion of snow, rabbit number 1 was out but didn’t get far with Nell making an easy catch, this was how most of the day went, Nell making it look easy on the snow, with the odd dig thrown in, once through the frozen crust it

As we sat in the truck getting our kit sorted out the wind was howling round us, once sorted off we went, it was bitter cold too, it wasn’t long before the rabbits were on the move, some just carried on over the heather and away but 2 dropped to ground, nell confirmed what I saw with a mark, all 100 yards of long net was soon out and round, 2 bolted quickly then all went quite, apart from the constant wind, out with the box and a couple of digs later saw a few more added to the tally, I was missing one of my albino Jill’s, I stared at were I put her in and ended up at the other end of the Warr

  13. Jill’s come into season later than hobs, it’s all to do with the days lengthening, it won’t be long before the hobs will be caged on there own
  14. Looks a cracking day trev, ? we have some low land too but we hit that at the beginning of the season then it’s up, up and up some more, in amongst the limestone and heather
  15. It’s constantly windy up on those moors, in 3 seasons I think we have only been there a handful of times when it isn’t blowing
  16. With the vast amount of ground we have it’s littered with holes so a marking dog is a must, personally I wouldn’t bother if I had no dog
  17. She is very reliable, if she says there’s rabbits at home, there’s rabbits at home
