    THERE are collie crosses and collie crosses ;IT all depends on what blood lines and real proven dogs,you can get good and bad in any cross ,but in my experiance when you get a good one you wont get a better dog.AS for the opinion of wind in first cross dogs, MY OLD first cross had bags of wind and real bottle to tackle anything pre ban.I HAVE HIS SON WHO IS A BLUE MERLE WHO IS 7 YEARS OLD and has been and still is a REAL DOG.HE IS AVAIBLE FOR STUD IF ANY ONE IS INTERESTED .HE AS BEEN A FANTASTIC ALLROUND DOG ,TOP CLASS LAMP DOG ,MOUCHING DOG, CAUGHT PLENTY OF DAYTIME HARES SINGLE HANDED PREBA

    what i mean is you , me anybody else wont have these dogs what stand out from anything else you had .YOU WONT GET A CHAMPION WITH EVERY DOG YOU HAVE.IHAVE HAD REAL GOOD DOGS , BUT ONLY 1 really exceptional dog which dont come round that often

    THE point is in the 1980;s nearly 30 years ago these so called unbeatable LAMPING STRAIN WERE CATCHING A vast amount of very green niave game on real good ground .I THINK THERE WERE A LOT OF DOGS BACK THEN WHO COULD OF CAUGHT THAT AMOUNT OF GAME ON THE RIGHT GROUND.majority of places now adays are far more pressured ;AND if you are lucky enough to have acess to ground lifting with game you are a very lucky person.     a top working labrador is streets ahead of a weimarner in working ability and temprement;I have never seen a weimarner work never mind be better than a labrador.THE thing is there is no guarantee with any cross breed, but u have to try.

    i agree mate. i used to have a pedigree yellow lab whos primary job was picking up but he was the tall rangy working type and had a good turn of speed on him. Caught and killed two foxes in daytime and used to regularly catch rabbits. i discouraged him as hunting for himself made him a bit wayward for picking up but im sure he could have fathered some good first crosses on the right grew bitch. Oh, and Badboy2, if you got nothing useful to say then stop typing - theres is enough to read through on here without having to skim through your pointless posts FAIR PLAY MATE. I LIK

    i think people think they are not really that athletic dog ,but how wrong they are ,A TOP WORKING LABRADOR IS TRULY A POWERFUL AND A ATHLETIC DOG WHICH IS FASTER THAN ANY BULLTERRIER AND BEDLINGTON.I MY SELF HAVE A WORKING LABRADOR BITCH WICH IS A FANTASTIC WORKER.YOU HAVE TO GET THE RIGHT STAMP OF LABRADOR;EITHER DOG OR BITCH AND CROSS WITH A WELL BRED GREYHOUND WICH IS JUST AS INPORTANT.

    Thanks mate, yes they make real good lamping lamping dog. With Bryn he is a pup , but he is going to make a top lamping dog as he gets older.
