  4. hi all, went out the other night too a old field i first ran my first lurcher on, lovely field that holds a family of dear which always seem to observe me from the corner of the field enjoying the light show, took my bitch (first lurcher). on arrival a quick flick showed many rabbits to be had, as this field is not particually big, i focused on the ones to the middle of it,gota love squatters which one to pick! singled out one and slipped the bitch, the bugger made a awsome b -line for the perimeter flat out with the bitch gaining quick ,turning paralell to the cover nipping in and out with bi
  5. Hi there i got myself a first cross beddy whippet he not as quick as my other lurcher top flight but the acceleration is outstanding, they reckon there the fastest accelerating cross u can get,due to the beddys racing posture apparently they have whippet make up in them, who knows but if u work rabbit on small fields ul be pleased will hit cover like anything im no pro to lurcherwork but he does the job for me,he very stubon amd usually needs calling twice, plus if charlie wa a legal quarry, i know hed have the minerals all the best,p.s ill pip a picture of him when i get home,
  6. yea works cover well, sounds like a train going through it,
  7. hi all just a couple pics of my whippet beddie first x, well pleased with him, i took him on his first ferreting trip and he marked ,sure enough he was right, just the one rabbit, left it at that, well worth the wait,he has so much prey drive, compared to my other lurcher, the teeth on him are massive, has a very good coat (bit wet in the pics)just come of a walk accross the fields, i think he would of made a excellent fox dog ,had he been born back then, anyway would reccomend them ,but he can be very stubborn ,gettin there though, cheers
  8. i have a Nitestalker220 (same as Lightforce Blitz) which is a very good lamp no problems with it atall,i decided it was abit to bright for the size of fields i run on,but if your after the 180, it will also be a very good lamp,i brought the Clulite Lazerlite recently with a pop up filter, perfect lamp, i would recomend also p.s never had a lightforce so cant comment, but have heard nothing but problems with them, except they apparently have a very tight beam hope this helps
  9. im no pro when it comes too hunting with lurchers,as only had them for a couple of years, if you like bull crosses and need them, then get one, if you like collie crosses then get one ,if you like beddy crosses then get one,why on this site is there so much debate on bull xs,if it does the job for you then fine, who cares what anyone else thinks, its your F*"!*"g dog,and stag 1, i got a first cross beddy whippet to accompany my collie grey/whippet and as he is only young he wont be entered yet and when he is, it is for rabbits as im in england and deer and fox are something i cant hunt, can you
  10. i think bitza is a abreviation of (bits of this bits of that) p.s i have a lurcher which sire was pure whippet and the dam was colliexgrey ,does this make her a bitza? not sure
  11. your one should be fine, it is the same as the striker, i think, with better wiring ,i went for nitestalkers version of the blitz the 220,thing was like carrying a dustbin lid,(great if your on big fields) but for me was not right, so i went and got a lazerlite, there brilliant for what i need
  12. thank you shes a 2 year old lurcher, sire was whippet(laguna lines), dam was collie x grey both picked up well, she has taken too her father mainly, heres a pic of the sire
