  1. I got given a £400 runner for free, just gave the girl some hay for her sheep.......bargain
  2. This may sound stupid but i cant get my dog to run on the bloody thing , do the people that use running machines tie their dogs on? Ive only tried once admitedley, got if for myself primarily My dogs get walked for 1.5- 2 hours a day, but if your wanting a good level of stamina then putting the dog on the runner in the evening (if you dont have enough time to run the dog by the car ect)for a good few mins will boost stamina;most dogs 'mooch' and have short bursts of running when out walking. I reckon they can be benificial. DG

  10. True FH, but it does offer real life carrying practice.
  11. Thats what i thought, my pup is nearly 10 months old, had 3 before, he practiced carrying the mixy rabbit and was happy to retrieve it which i was very pleased with, especially as he wont retieve balls ect. Just goes to show! Every cloud and all that!! DG
  12. I live on the devon/cornwall borders and for the past 5 years weve been mixy free, but over the past few days the dogs have retrieved 2 mixy rabbits still alive. The rabbits have to be the worst looking rabbits with mixy ive seen...not only were their eyes affected, but they had exposed wounds all over their body...its a terrible slow way to go!! Does anyone else in the southwest and other parts of the country have mixy? DG
  13. sterile sticthing kits, clorhexadine, hibi scrub, dry dressings, vet wrap, lidocaine, syringes, s/c antibiotics, vet glue, hypo stop........the list is endless, just depends how prepared you want/need to be. My whippet is nearly 10 months old and ive stiched him 3 times rangeing from a tear the size of a 10 pence to a 2.5"-3" tear. Obviously only treat the dog if you definately know what the cause of the problem is....and if you are sure of how to cure it. DG

  17. Welcome cheshire123, ive only ever worked dogs, ive found them to be very trusting, loyal; i think a lot of it depends on how you treat them and train them, im sure bitches are just as good as dogs ect. The only problem i can see is the bitch being in season, could pose problems. Im sure people that own bitches will post in a moment. DG
