  4. unfortunate thing is they'll pick up bad habits as quick as good ones. dangergirl a wise man once said patience is a virtue. True, im not being inpatient and i was'nt asking anything of him, just thought i would let him have a look. Now ive seen his response i will leave it for a good few months.
  5. Alright Joe, you know i like your dog. Mine is turning out to be similar looking.
  6. I was encouraged by the experience with him, also aslong as you know to look out for the signs that its not working out for the dog then i cant see it being a problem.
  7. Cheers robert, he does retrieve and ive been throwing the ball in our garden at night lit up like you say, id say he retrieves 8 out of 10. He is not mentally ready yet i know but i thought it would give him an insite and i knew if he started yelping not to take him out until he was ready to run.

  9. Went lamping last night with my Terrier and decided to take my 4.5 month old whippet pup along for the crack; i never expected the response i got. He was following the lamp everywhere after he saw the terrier run a sitter, and when he saw more rabbits at the end of the lamp he was desperate to go for them, he turned into a different animal and i was very surprised at his gameness. He is physically strong and well built for his age(18.5") and very quick so im sure he would not of been far off the bunny had i let him slip. Im not planning to slip him for a good few months yet but your thoughts w
  10. They wont be the same, dont use them. You would rather pay a few quid more for the real stuff from the vets then have to fork out hundreds for a gastrointestinal bleed caused by human dose tablets. Dont use human antibiotics on a dog, for a start they dont kill pain they only kill bacterial infection; You wont know what bacteria your treating so the tablets you have lying around that you used for a chest infection wont work on an infected leg. The human dose will be to big too and could cause renal or liver problems, then before you know it you've nearly bumped off your prize pooch and again w
  11. My dad got weils disease about 10 years ago. He was really ill, and ended up with renal problems. He was installing sewerage pumping systems and they think thas how he contracted it.
  12. No. They can cause humans alot of problems. They are non steriodal anti inflamatories and can cause serious respiratory problems in humans, even stomach ulcers. They are too strong for a dog, but a vet will have something very similar at a lower dose
  13. Thought you liked the beard, you said it added texture
  14. He is a rough shooting, bushing dog. Will go anywhere and retrieve all shot game.
  15. Sod off....Ootys got me all wrong. I told him i was a cross dressing bloke, but that did'nt phase him.....it seemed to spur him on!!
  16. Why do you steer clear of bull in you lurchers? I guess it depends on what you want from your dog as to how much bull you have if any at all. I like a dilute amount of bull in a lurcher, just my opinion. Cheers DG
