chess has the right idea, go after pollack they are great sport no matter how you go after them. A 6lb pollack on a fly rod must of put up hell of a fight!

You will get them from any caravan shop or i think towsure do them (find them on the net). They are easy to fit just slot them between the spring coils and this limits the travel. If its a caravan your towing try putting more wieght at the back of the van (whilst staying within wieght limit) to balance it out more.

As long as your road insured anywhere! cumbye is right i think agricultural tax you can go any distance You can get vehicles taxed as "limited use" which means a journey of about 1.2 miles on road at anyone time is allowed, this might of been what you were thinking of. yep it is limited use would that be 1.2 miles one way i can tell ya all for a fact you can only travel 12 miles as the crow flies with an agricultural veichle.i.e tractor ect..this is most definatly the law. and it has to be for an agricultural purpose,if not and get the wrong bobby or worse m

Was it your Local police authority that said this guy was no good as a referee

If you are really stuck you could ask your doctor (but he will probably charge you) But really any company director/owner or as said by SS a think the wording is "anyone of reputable standing" can be a referee

If you want the best of the best get in touch with Viking Communications 0845 2573825 they produce some excellent moulded ear defenders, these fit inside your ear. I have the passive ones (about £100) which i don't think would be best for stalking but electronic ones are available but a bit more pricey. They even produce 2nd generation digital ones that amplifies sound under certain dbs (even more pricey)

This comment just reminded me of some of the best sea fishing i have every had. Pollock fishing of the mull of galloway. The wife loves pollock we use to catch just lightly battered and deep fryed, some people can't stand pollock but we love it

I had my first shoot gun (410) at the age of 10 and that was after using an air rifle for some years. We did live in the country and had a bit of land so i was always shooting in our garden. The main thing is if your starting them early with guns is the saftey drills, they will remember them for the rest of thier lifes if taught early enough.

would you rate a jeep cherokee as a good off roader
dsr686 replied to hawk eye's topic in 4x4's, Quads & ATV's
3.1 TD Trooper is with out a doubt "bullet poof" but beware of the later 3.0TD the early ones (2000 ish) use to just blow for no reason. The Trooper is a great work horse with a few nice extras, but as always with any vehicle its a gamble if you get a good one or not. But over all i wpuld give the for the trooper for what you want. -

Muddy fields, steep banks and the odd ploughed field. Has to be a 90/110 nothing to beat them off road, you could go for a discovery but you must have decent off road tyres (same goes for any vechicle going off road). -
I Agree that the Hondas are by far the best build we have a 300 electric shift and it gets no attention at all but still keeps going. We have just got a Quadzilla as well but it is new and under warranty etc (up to us how we treat it) The Honda will be the best buy secondhand. Only 1 problem the new Quadzilla was the same price as a 6 year old Honda. Upto you really.

Don't bother with the jeep you spend more time repairing it than driving it (parts are dear too) Get a Hi Lux or Landy -
When i first applied for my FAC i had to show them round the ground i was going to be shooting over and answer questions about safety etc (they were just checking out what i new about safety and my knowlege of the area) i think they wanted to see the land as it had never been land checked for the size of rifle i was applying for (.222) and then when i applied for a .243 they checked it again? But don't worry as long as you come across as genuine and polite and don't act like a blood thirsty maniac just out to kill everthing you will be fine.

For an MOT the fog light can work with or without the headlamps on but the switch must have a warning lamp on it to indicate when the fog light is on. These switchs can be bought at most auto factors and hace a little LED to tell you that the fog light is on. Very easy to wire up, just a live from anywhere through the switch to the lamp then earth the lamp to the body. Hope this helps (i own 2 mot stations) Cheers

Bio Diesel is fine in older engines but you don't want to use it in high pressure diesels (most new ones) it will knacker the pump. Watch out for the fuel filter blocking up, you will need to change it more often (all depends how will the Bio has been filtered) When using Bio you will feel at lot more hungry (the exaust fumes smell like a chip shop) In my experience the Bio Diesel tends to make engines run cleaner with less exhaust smoke. My landrover 2.5td (not TDI) runs fine on anything but i wouldn't put Bio Diesel anywhere near my Nissan Pathfinder. Hope this helps a bi

dsr686 replied to dsr686's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Thanks i think i will just have to hope the electric hens will drop low enough for the partridges (i know they will for pheasants) Cheers -
Hi, i have reared pheasants and partridges under gas for the past 10 years on our small shoot, We have been given a number of electric hens this year that we have checked out and repaired. The only thing i am worried about is how high should they be for the day old partridges. (we are only rearing partridges under the hens) Hope someone can help. this is my first post so hope i have done it right? Thanks
