IMO you need a mix of both a dog that is too hard isnt right as you can only dig here and there with him but a dog that doesnt mix isnt worth havin either cause if a fox wants too move a dog will have to hold him no matter what. I like a dog that sitts of yapping and when it calls for it he has no problem mixing. I have seen dogs that have plenty of scares but when your digging them they have to be dug out quick and thats not my kind of dog

R you for real or what.. Buy some rats from your local pet store, you want to get a grip of yourself saying things like that. How much of a tube are you.. listen rebel, is there no-one that you know that diggs, mybe you could ask whoever you got the dog of to take you out and show the dog something. personnally I wouldnt work the dog until its around 2 year old but from around 16 months mybe show it a dead-end but if the dog is already going to ground then your best bet is to just go out and try handy holes that you know. Dont listen to this joker anyway about buying some rats from your pet s -
dogs always stay outside there for working not pets just IMO

Poacher that dog of yours was a good example of the cross but most i have seen have nearly always throw more to the staff side and the are to big for running holes right. JMHO

Dont care what anyone says if a dog comes across a rabbit in a hole it will dig it. The reason for keeping dogs away from rabbits is to stop a terrier from going to grouund when it smells rabbits at home. What i mean is if ye come across a pulled out rabbit hole it could hold a fox but there could be rabbits in it, so if ye have a dog thats used to hunt rabbits he will go to ground on them but a dog thats used for fox wont as it knows thats not his job JMHO
