    here goes flack jacket and tin helmet at the ready -- the saying goes that the patterdale is named after a village in cumbria where the type of terrier where promident .. the fell terrier name has been around since the late 1700 early 1800s the patterdale name was derieved in the 1950s .. brey/buck and later nuttall developed the patterdale type further . patts are usauly know for havin a smooth coat ... other breeders added bull to get the type of terrier .... thanks stig didnt know bout the dates interesting though

    whys that then nixy you sayin white lakelands dont work i`ve kept and bred them for 30yr davies/gould plenty of lads on here will tell you mine graft .. i threw the seperate class for lakelands in just to see if anyone took the bait i stopped showing years ago but when i did i won just about every major show going during the 80s and early 90s and plenty of entered classes along the way ... so are you sayin i took the bait or waz it ment to weed out the show types.

    there is such a thing as the parson russell and white lakeland - imo thr should be a seperate class for white lakies at shows .. Jesus are you for real there shud b a seperate class for with lakelands, well a bet you'll not be in the working class

    I thought it was alright. At least it was something to watch, the bit with the pigone (sorry bout spelling lol) was funny as hell your woman was well freaked by it.

    wats this about a "quite heat" never heard of that before. I have a 12 month patt bitch her litter sisters all went round 9 months but she looked like she was gonny go bit of discharge looked swollen but no blood and the swelling was there one day then gone again.

    sum dogs need it in the summer heat and supposed to bring out the winter coat better not to sure bout that lik sounds abit daft to me but there you have it.

    £250 for any terrier pup is a rip cause there is never any definates that the pup will work. Anyone asking that much money for a terrier pup is in it for money IMO but look to mybe pay round quid mark in that area anyway lik

    was gonny say there looks to be bit of black stuff through the bitch I'd say put abit more wieght on the bitch as growing pups need plenty. Bit small looking but nice bitch all the same should make nice size to get up to any fox good luck with her mate

    I'd of the opinion that when you have the dog started then the first season should be an easy one then the following season you can work away with him but in saying that it doesnt always work out the tway you want so just make sure that the dog is well healed before taking him out again is probably the best advice I have ever had.

    I've found a few good places mybe a good tip for anyone check round to see where they sell lawn grass the stuff you buy if your doing your garden up. the few places i have been to that sell it there has always been big numbers of rabbits and the ground is flat as hell and the grass is always very short makes for great runs and you usually get a few good runs then just double back and run them again.

    Just read the post and to be honest doesnt seem anything wrong with it as the lad states he is trying to get his bitch back in form for the season and as its already been said anyone who says that they dont go for a hunt during the summer is lying full stop doesnt matter who they are TOP DOG men or not ( I've yet to meet one all TOP DOG men with big names seem to be full of sh*t).     i could be wrong here but is it not illegal to work two dogs at once in the same set i think the law is that one dog to bolt a fox to waiting guns for the protection of game birds and livestock, correct me if am wrong. So i think this topic should be closed now. IMO
