Thought about this thread a couple of hours ago,sitting on a ridge watching a beaver in a pond below,it was a tiny dot but I could see his wake.

First person to have entered?Might have been someplace like ladakh or even Bhutan (there used to be no roads,you had to trek in),different people back then,the kids nowadays think they are remote if they can't get WiFi or a phone signal.Your grandparents must have seen some sights.

Get a manager in and kick back,travel and do stuff you enjoy.I heard a horrific story a few weeks back,bloke of 64 looking forward to retirement,couldn't get out of bed one morning,wife took him to the doc,stage 4,given a month to live but passed in two weeks,put me on a downer for the rest of the day when I heard that.

Going along a road in the boonies earlier and caught a buck in the periphery of my vision in a field at the back of a house,passing the house a few hours later I saw the buck again,then I realised,it was a Wayne!

Never seen a display,went to other displays of mammoth and the worlds largest collection of dire wolf skeletons in the california tar pits earlier this year.If the boneyard ever do a display i would love to visit. -

There's a pure white beaver about an hour from here,been on the news,Beaver are fair game for anyone on crown land so won't last long.

If I was still up there i would have got you one,lump hammer and chisel and check the quarry floor,was never difficult,I am going to a rock wall in Quebec later,if I see owt (but probably won't sadly) i will pick it up. -

Went to a mineral and rock show,miners from Canada and the states mainly but a few international,got chatting to an old guy in his 80's who lived way up north as a kid and tried prospecting,lived on shot game and fish and found a nugget of gold the size of a thimble while panning a stream,I love stories like that. Also met an old first nations bloke exhibiting arrow heads finds. -
Still played in the himalaya foothills to this day,remnants of the days of the Raj ,I stayed in Kashmir a few times,the British officers hill station of choice during British india,they had houseboats on the lakes (Dal and nagin),incredible opulence.
