    Theres a strip of woods on the estate side of the tracks,then the footpath,then Lambton garden centre,we used to get dozens of roosters whenever we went,is the layout still the same?

    Andy,that had to be the railway lines on the south side of the river running along Lambtons All the pheasants used to cross the tracks to feed on the corn fields Used to get LOADS of ferals under southwick bridge,Austin and pickersgills etc.............

  11. Yeah mate,they sell everything at the lake,bait,food,the works,you can even hire tackle there,your paying the english and french firms for their local "Expertise"

No probs mate,loads of firms springing up offering fishing at that particular lake(because of the size,density,and accessability)they offer "Packages" you can fish there including bait for a fiver,the firms charge you approx £100 a day including their "secret" baits(coconut milk soaked breads or fish pellets)get a £400 quid flight,jump in a taxi,I took 5'lb tc spod rods and big pit reels,mostly over there they use uptiders,heavy duty cat rods,and multipliers.
  13. Thats got to be the IGFA record though as those things go up to 300+,as for the cats 40lb'ers are common,most days you catch a few,20'lbers are an irritant as its a fish a cast,wait till you see an arapaima swirl on the top
  14. Fished there mate,loads of times,dont go with jean-francoise helias though,hire your gear there and do your own thing,you will catch just as many fish and save yourself £+ a day
  15. I have quite a few mates from the north-east who think its worth the 5 hour drive to run their dogs down here,we have a lot of "variety" Must be good if they travel that far? What species of deer do you get round there? Thanks Muntie,roe,fallow,CWD.Tracker...........J*** the guy you PM'd me about is now back up north,he went back 2 years ago,but if you ever came down here for the fallow you might have met me..........................

  22. Woodys gone I was only there three years ago Hardys IS mega-money,the guy was chatting to me about his next fly fishing trip,I was thinking surrey or hampshire,he was on about Bhutan
