  3. thats an irish wolfhound on a six pence coin.they were the first coins the free state minted. it was determined that people associated with "the present time" should not be incorporated on any designs, no doubt due to the deep divisions carved by the Irish Civil War. It was later decided that anything with religious or cultural connotations should be avoided because this might have led to coins becoming relics or medals. At the time, and for centuries previously, agriculture was essential to the economy of Ireland and this theme was decided upon for the coins, which used designs featuring anim

  5. yeah thats true ..if your work involves guns they're going to get rough treatment ,,synthetic are the better option in that case
  6. just seeing which you prefer or use sythetic or wooden stocks
  7. most of my family and relations farm...each has a farm and an average of -100 acres but they all hav a full time job i.e. enginner, electrican, welder, shopkeeper, carpenter.unless you own the land and its 500 acres there is little chance you will make enough money especially as a farm hand. my advice is get a trade maybe there is no work now but it opens up doors for you. you can go to other countries and work i.e. austraila. then you could come home when the building trade improves and who knows you might even have enough money to buy a bit of land
  8. well the first rifle i ever used was a remington .22 and i just didnt like anything about it,also anyone iv asked has sold their remmie or would never buy one again unless it was a 700 Since I don't shoot deer and don't intend to (as yet anyway) I would go for a .223 for foxes. I had a long reply written but lost it so this is the shorter version. I think ruling out Remingtons for that reason is a mistake. I own a Remington VL SS .223, it's shoots a considerable way better than my Tikka T3 Varmint did. I don't say all rifles are the same, I only compare those two individual rifles. Out

  13. i had a ruger 10/22 before and to be honest it wasnt a great rifle but thats my opinion. i now use a .22 CZ BRNO 452 zkm and its a much better rifle.iv never had a problem with it. with the ruger after goin through a hard days shooting it tended to jam and i always thought it wasnt very accurate but maybe that was the amunition. id stay well clear of them and stick to the reliable CZ, just a few i got today
  14. while im not sure i think bigger magpies only attract other big magpies while smaller one attract both big and small and as far as i know the male is bigger than the female
  15. Cant help you with the ireland bit but if you have a look through the previous questions and answers in these falconry pages you'll find this question has been asked lots before so you'll find all the info you need. However that doesnt mean you shouldnt ask question im just saving everyone going through the same advise for the ??? time lol You will find once you locate a centre or a falconer near you that they will probably advise you on first bird and breeders. It rather depends on what your permission is like and what sort of quarry it contains and what you'd lke to catch. If you have permis
