    .....try the baiting method then. I often use the cheapest liver in tescos (and leave it in the car in the packet for a couple of days until it starts to go off ). Pick a spot where you maybe have seen a fox and leave some bait there each night for a few consecutive nights and then on the forth night just sit tight and wait for a fox to turn up. the difficult part is knowing what time it will turn up ! I have read various articles where people like yourself have said they have been out a few times and not seen a fox yet someone else who shoots on the same land was going out after midnigh

If you are just starting out then I would recommend you get a copy of Robert Bucknells book 'Foxing with Lamp & Rifle' it is very informative and you will find it very useful and you can easily re-sell it and get some money back afterwards. If by 'best' you mean 'easiest' then in my opinion it would be this time of year when this years cubs are easily lamped and called in. Also as soon as any crop field has been harvested the foxes will be there that night

    I remember this place ! I was down there a couple of years ago with a mate in November 2008 and I recall it was a great day and nice terrain with a good variety of quarry we had a great day until I fell over in the bog and got soaked! This was what we shot between the four of us : A bit far for me, but I am surprised you have any places left ! Good luck

    I was at the range yesterday with the chrono to see how they perform. They were averaging 1370fps .My rifle rifle is zeroed at 50 yards (for the .22lr winchester sub) and the targets were at 110 yards and the scope only needed four minutes of angle (12 clicks) to bring it back on target to hit the spinner targets.

    You taking piss? f**k the midnight cowboys! 50 50 chance of getting away with a dog no chance with a gun ....ok to make it a bit fairer then use a rifle without NV and good old fashioned iron sights at 200 yards. gun men wankers

    Cut it to size and double it up to provide better camo! Sooner or later you will find a use for it.....such as the netting to make a ghillie suit or two hides when you have more than one of you in the same field
