  1. I bought the 810f wildfowler..... basically if you want a gun that cycles 3 cartridges....this ain't the gun!! Disappointed I only hold on to it because of the 3.5" chamber for the 63g cartridges but wouldn't recommend it otherwise
  2. Whilst applying for a variation for 22-250 I had a phonecall from a mate who knows someone getting rid of a .270 because of a messy divorce (when I say messy .....no he didn't shoot her!). So I added it to my variation. Just thought I would canvass a few opinions on peoples likes/dislikes do's/don'ts with them.
  3. If you check on airgunbbs forum he is slated to the max and is a nightmare to get hold of. My advice steer well clear .....to be honest if you are fed up now imagine how you would feel after you have shelled out a grand and then can't get hold of him if it goes wrong!
  4. Out for an hour tonight with the .22 with the gen2 NV nice shotty just realised....such a c*ck aren't I!

  6. I like the sound of this! How much did it cost you to get all the reloading gear? As a total novice how did you learn to reload and was it difficult? I take it you need some kind of permission to buy the propellants?
  7. I am thinking of applying for a centre fire and am considering getting a 22-250 and I am curious how much the ammo is, and any other comments you want to make ie what you would or wouldn't buy any do's or don'ts, barrel lifespan. I thougth I would go for a 22-250 as I want to use it for shooting foxes and possibly roe deer at some point. Cheers
  8. Unless you get a complete bargain, you will end up very disappointed. I bought a gen 1 monocular with dayscope adaptor and with additional ir you will get about 100yds. Ended up forking out for a Gen 2 dedicated scope and I am well pleased. I don't mean to be negative but if as the saying goes buy cheap you buy twice....why not get a small loan of a £1k and get something you will be impressed with.
  9. Word of warning , I tried for 3months to get the Rpro from Gavin from GB sights, even saw one of the Rpro's that another shooter had but he runs as a one man band and basically you have more chance of the Pope wrestling Osama Bin laden than actually getting anything from Gavin. Check out other shooting forums and see!
  10. Was out shooting Nr Dunbar in East lothian at Al's place and saw several today and we both bagged one. I have taken them both for the pot, not quite sure if i am going to cook them with the entrails still in like it said on one programme I watched on TV!
  11. Yes, many thanks for another great day Dave & George, and I have to admit it was pretty funny being up to my ass in mud but I am glad it happened at the end of the day and not a the start! , Dave1372
  12. What distance can you see rabbits upto with it?
  13. I wouldn't say it is bad etiquette, most people would just be jealous you had money to buy land at the drop of a hat for the sake of getting your FAC! However the size and terrain of the plot should be suitable for the type of calibre you are applying for. What size is the plot, what borders the plot ?

  17. Sounds like a good day. My advice (beacuse I am lazy) is skin the pheasants and save yourself a lot of time faffing about plucking pheasants!.
  18. You will probably end up buying more guns anyway, thats just the way it is! To start with I would advise the o/u as it is far easier to clean and generally more reliable that semis which can need a lot of cleaning and depending upon the makes don't always like the lighter cartridges that some clay grounds may require you to shoot. Good luck.....go with your gut instinct.
