  1. If I were you I would take it step by step. First of all speak to the land owner before you speak to the FEO. Suggest to the landowner that he should tell this guy that he has been advised by local police to get a copy of any shooters that shoot on his land firearms/sgc license. This is a credible excuse for him to get hold of the firearms certificate then he can check first of all what rifles and what quarry he can shoot. You will look over zealous and be a bit embarassed if you go making allegations to the FEO which you have no evidence to report except word of mouth and the FEO reports he
  2. Crackin looking rifle that, would definitley be on my christmas list.
  3. My advice....dress up warm....very warm!
  4. If they do ban them then it is just another case showing how out of touch with reality the scottish parliament really are ! There are more deaths due to drink driving, drugs, knife crime . They should tackle these issues first ! Politicians should get their heads out of the asses and get a reality check .
  5. Dont worry yourself over nowt, i have unpaid parking fines, and didnt stop me from getting my renewel Why am I not surprised lol!
  6. As far as I know parking tickets shouldn't affect your application, I think it is because althought the police issue them it is often for reasons of safety and is more of a civil matter than criminal.....but I may stand corrected!
  7. Works very well and the only downside is that I don't have a set of NV monuculars (yet!) to give to whoever accompanies me. So they miss out on the best bit lol!
  8. Sound like a fun night was had by all......Go on we like messy headshot photos lol!
  9. You often hear stories of mysterious large black cats sightings across the uk. What is the legal position fo shooting one if you saw it on your land?
  10. That seems reasonable to me, I think mine was about that give or take £20, cost a lot more by the time I had the barrel screwcut for the moderator, mounts, scope, sling, bullets, cleaning rod, bore cleaner, rifle case, bipod! I had the stainless steel heavy barrel. Sometimes wish I had gone for the lighter barrel and slightly shorter, it is not one for quickly popping out the side window of the motor! But I went for a big PES over sleeve moderator which doesn't help. If you are using it for foxing go for a 8x56 scope. Cheers Dave
  11. Picked up anew permission and went and saw the head green keeper today. He showed us around the golf course and the views are awesome, you can see the whole of Edinburgh, the East Coast and across to Fife!
  12. Went down the chicken farm last night, first chance for a few nights because of the rain ! Wasn't expecting to get much as the weather had been that bad. Went for a little mooch about with the shooting sticks first of all but couldn't see anything except loads of rabbits near the quarry so I decided to get back in the pick up and drive about. Half way up the farm the lamp picked up a set of eyes down in the rough near a drainage ditch . Switched off the lamp and turned on the NV and after a minute confirmed it was a fox about 180 yards away and so I let rip with the 22-250 and down it went
  13. Well done, nice looking dog fox that, any idea how old?
  14. Are you looking to buy a new or secondhand shotgun first of all? In my opinion you should go for a 12 bore first, the ammunition is a lot cheaper than 20 bore for a start. Absolutely nothing wrong with a 20 bore I love shooting my wifes 20 bore. Soon as you get the shooting bug you will need to start saving for a 20 bore anyway lol!
  15. Well, I have just had confirmation that I have got permission for shooting on a local golf course so looks like I should order an AS50 .50cal and ghillie suit then to live up to the reporters expectations! lol!
  16. Only total utter scum would do that. I hope they get caught soon.
  17. Just don't buy the jack pyke ones cos they are useless! Go for something like the stealth ghost from decoying.co.uk.
  18. Good going guys, that will a nice wad of cash from the game dealer then lol! Keep it up.
  19. Personally I wouldn't bother. I got one off foxcall.co.uk and it's superb, £9.99 ! Foxcall.co.uk Yep, I have got one of those too, but on the odd one or two it doesn't work and I like the idea of being able to upload your own calls on it.
  20. I was just having a mooch around various websites and came across this The Warrener's Predator Caller. I was wondering if anyone has tried one and what did they of its performance and quality of the calls etc. Your opinions please.(Keep to the topic!)
  21. I would suggest phoning your local FEO, their attitude to you and feedback should give a fair indication of whether your application with the chief will be ok. Some FEOs are better than others. They will check the case of your conviction but if you can somehow demonstrate that you are a changed person ie your current occupation means you are very responsible and something like you also raise orphaned children from Lithuainia I am sure this will help. If you live in a dive of an area with three pitbulls and are on the dole I doubt it! Good luck anyway, no harm in trying.
  22. It will depend upon the circumstances.... was it a minor offence or were you firing them at children in prams if you get my jist?
  23. I have watched some of his dvd's and considering the age of some his stuff ie it was originally recorded on video tape back in the 's it aint that bad it was worth every penny I spent on them lol! (Cheers JM)
  24. I think you got it wrong lol! Nearly sticking your car into the river isn't lucky, its unlucky lol!
