Often people will say that a topic or outcome is about being 'politically correct'...... I often wonder whether it would be more appropriate to change it to being 'politically incorrect' as nine times out of ten politics/politicians and the current govt are about doing exactly the opposite of common sense! Examples : School kids are no longer allowed to read some nursery rhymes .....Humpty Dumpty .... they say that is laughing at anothers persons misfortune.......get a grip it is a nursery rhyme for kids ........! I apologise for my previous topic that started this all of guys! I was speaking to the guy from Reloading Solutions today to buy some items and he was saying that if you don't clean the barrel the fouling build up can react with moisture which may be present which in turns creates a form of nitric acid which cause the pitting of the barrels, hence regular cleaning of the barrel prevents this! How you do it a suppose will always be a matter for debate!

Hope you and your friend have permission to be there, looks very much like a field where i shoot, and i am the only one with permission to be there LOL. its just that the top of the stone dyke looks very familiar, as i have stopped there loads of times and shot foxes in the field where your mate is, now i know why i havent seen any for a while in that field, hope you managed to get him out or he will be stuck in there until around mid may... After all the bad weather this week followed by the snow last night was the first opportunity to head out for a mooch about, we weren't expecting to see anything really....just wanted to get out the house for a while. Couldn't believe how bad the snow had been in Midothian, a lot of the places still had powercuts and the snow ploughs had formed 6ft high mounds at the side of the roads. When we got to the farm immediately we realised it was going to be a pointless excercise because unless the foxes had grown very long legs there was no way they would be mooching about the fields. When I just bought my new rifle silly twat that I am I forgot to but a cleaning rod! As most cleaning rods do more than one calibre I am not entirely sure which one I should be buying as they quote imperial sizes . I realise I am being a bit thick so can someone point me in the right direction please.

Sh*t isn't it! I am having a few days off work this week and I really wish I hadn't bothered! I had planned to zero in my new 6.5x55 during the day and then out with the NV at night.....no luck the most fun I have had is loading some different loads of 22-250 ammo to experiment with.

This may be a simpler idea for you: Get one of your old mobile phones. Get a pay as you go sim card for it. Load various mp3 fox calls on to it Set one of them as you ring tone Check with the service provder what code you need to key into the phone to turn off the voicemail. Cover the screen how ever you choose to stop it lighting up when you phone it. Hey presto you have a remote control fox caller to use at what ever distance you want Should only cost you the top-up card. Try leaving some bait next to it also Hope this helps.

imo i wouldnt bother mate i dont think bedding the stock will make your rimfire any more accurate. just adjust the trigger and spend the rest on ammo and a upgrade of scope. the reason i dont think your get any more accuracy out of it. is dont forget rimfires are factory ammo. so no matter how much you do to the gun your rifle accuracy is dictated by the ammo. unlike a centrefire where you can make your own to improve accuracy I would take Jamies advice, save the moey and put it towards your centrefire rifles. -
I agree it is not fair to tar everyone with the same brush but you make it so easy....your use name is 'poacheman'. ...hardly likely to convince anyone you are not in favour of honest dog running activities is it!

If you were walking along a public highway common sense should tell you that you should have it out of sight ! If you had had a pellet in the breech he could have charged you...and that is a whole different ball game you don't want to play!
