  1. 1. Yes. I think if you are on a limited budget the kits are a good idea, but you will most likley want to upgrade some bits like the scales to digital scales in the future etc, so I thought I would spend a little extra in the first place. It is kinda like buying a gun....you can spend as little or as much as you budget will allow. 2. I went for the non-indexing (ie it doesn't turn to the next position automatically) turret press more or less for convenience so that I don't have to keep removing the dies and resetting the seating depth as I thinkyou would need to with the single stage press (s
  2. I have not long just started out myself so hopefully this will help : Where To Buy: If you are buying online try having a look at Reloading Solutions or Midway Uk Have alook on youtube.....loads of videos on reloading you will learn loads Equipment & Cost: This is the list/comments/prices I got from the guy I used : Dies. Normally recommend and stock Lee collet dies for thoses reoalding only there own cases for re-use in their own rifle. These dies neck-size only and give excellent accuracy and case life. If you are going with a single stage press I’d recommen
  3. Lol ! I only have one fox left to get at the chicken farm.....the only reason you got yours is cos they are too scared to cross the road onto my permission . Here is the pic of your foxes from last night :
  4. Unfortunately I don't trace the cubs....I would be a little nervous about asking someone with terriers that I don't know to help out just in case they were trying to slyly work their way into the permission and the next thing I know I am not needed ! I am sure there are plenty of honest terriermen out there, but I am a bit of pessimist and think why take the chance of ruining a good thing!
  5. In my opinion I don't think at that kind of price you can go wrong, if it turns out not to be much good you will most likely get your money back selling it on again.
  6. This weather is pretty demoralising at the moment either constant rain, snow or very high winds, there does not seem to be a happy medium! Good luck tonight then, I am heading out also....maybe one of us will have some pictures to show for it.
  7. Fair point. Just to clarify my situation I do most of my shooting on a large scale free range chicken farm which covers 850+ acres with over a 100,000 chickens, and they simply want rid of all foxes regardless of the time of year, so I have to take the point of view if I don't do it someone else will be quick to have ago instead of me...so unfortunately cubs or no cubs charlie has to go even if it means there are less for me to shoot in the future , but then again that is how I hopefully get recommended to other farmers . The other farms I shoot are lambing at the moment and they do have
  8. Clint you need to reduce your price..... I just picked a new set last week for £21 posted from click here these guys !
  9. This shouldn't make a difference to the cost of your insurance unless maybe you are asking for them to be covered specifically under the policy. Most policies will cover personal items upto a specific amount ie £250 so you may want to check and increase the limit. Alternatively you may find that the items are covered the house insurance policy. Hope this helps.
  10. If you already have a SGC and your uncle does you a reference and may be mentions he is happy to mentor you it will certainly go in your favour. Rimfire .22lr should be fine for foxes if you get them close enough and have good shot placement. In my opinion it is not the best calibre for foxing as shot placement will need to be bang on for every shot and nobody likes to see a fox suffer because of a poor shot. Centrefire would be ideal but often you wouldn't be given that straight away...some people do but not many ( please feel free to correct me anyone). good luck what ever happens.
  11. Lol ! I see your point , but you have got to see the funny side ! Lets just hope he turns out to be good businessman and not a con-artist
  12. My assumption would be that at 25 yards it would have been easier to use the shotgun......particlularly if the damn thing was running towards lol! Nice looking beast anyway.
  13. Just wondering how everyone is getting on with foxing at the moment as there haven't been any posts for a a while....thought with the farmers lambing there would be more foxes getting shot . The only places on this forum with a lot of posts at the moment is the 'dog sections' .....but then again that is a good thing as most of them need to practice their spelling anyway. Can't really say we have had much decent weather here last week to go out. Went out last night upon the hills and laid up 150 yards downwind of a den but after two hours and nothing but near frostbite to show for it, we gave
  14. LMAO ! Sad that it is true though!
  15. Glad it is not just me that thinks the UK is fecked then!
  16. Hope you are all feeling better first of all! Damn right you should claim....no doubt you are paying for legal cover on your insurance anyway. You would need some medical evidence even if it is just a case that you phoned the doctor to enquire what painkillers to take. Good luck.
  17. As above, but did you also shoot your spring in with a tin of pellets to settle it down. No pointing sighting in it until you have.
  18. .......22-250 for me, mainly for foxes though, a 22-250 turns rabbits to mincemeat!
  19. I think he already has them lol Ps Nice needles.
