  1. I checked the zero and it was still ok......must have just been me . I am just going to add the write up.
  2. Eh? In English? Ever heard of punctuation? Helps other people understand what the feck you're on about! Matt, he won't have a feckin clue what the word punctuation means and he won't understand words like 'job' , hard work' , 'GCSE', ' honesty' . His favourite words will be 'benefit' and 'tracksuit'..... and 'dog'
  3. Wish I could get a fox bus like that:notworthy: . How did you come by that little beauty or do you simply have too much money:whistling: . Nice fox by the way.
  4. ......only people who have a SGC or FAC but anyone can buy a dog
  5. I would say that foxing with rifles is not classed as a sport because strictly speaking there is no competitive element to it. It is more accurate to define it as a hobby. I shoot foxes on a chicken farm, a sheep farm, and on a arable farm (who likes the foxes controlled because he has various covey of partridge he wants protected). I doubt that we are going to run out of foxes. Hunting with hounds used to account for 21000-25000 foxes per year and it was estimated a similar amount could be accounted for by other individuals or groups who didn't keep records .The pre-breeding season i
  6. Cheers. Always try to get a clean kill, I hate seeing any animal in suffering after a poor shot ..... but it does happen, not often though.
  7. Bagged both these tonight.... so I was quite pleased to get two and still make it home for midnight !! Here are the photos : The top one was a dog fox that was shot using the 22-250. I shot it from a about 100yards, after having put out some liver as bait and then sat on top of some hay bales. The funny thing was I had only just put the bait out then climbed onto the bales and was using the the Yukon digital Ranger as a spotter and no sooner had I lied down the first thing I saw were two roe deer yards away! I had seen the same two the previous night also. I had to wait over a
  8. ........ as all of the above have said What a load of rubbish .
  9. Cheers, heres hoping I can get another one tonight :gunsmilie:
  10. Yep. The fox was sitting facing me but slightly offset to my right and when the bullet hit the front of its chest the bullet and exited via its shoulder/leg.
  11. That f*cked up :realmad: ! Better luck next time.
  12. Nice looking fox. Good shooting Billy
  13. I know what day it is . Tomorrow is Monday right ? I will be up at the farm behind me tonight from 8.30pm.... drop by if you want to. I will only be out to midnight as I have to get up early and drop my car in for its new exhaust tomorrow at 8am. I am looking forward to seeing what the world is like at 8am in the morning..... never seen it before at that time :11:
  14. Hmmmmm ..... and we all know why it was only used twice :whistling: Perhaps cos they are shite ! No beating around the bush with you Dave tell it as it is Just being honest ! Gen 1 is fine for air rifles but for .22lr then he should be looking at digital Nv or Gen 2 . I bought gen 1 to start off with and sold it with in 2 weeks as I was so disappointed. No doubt he will sooner or later move onto centrefire rifles too and Gen 1 is no use for centrefires in my opinion.
  15. Went back to the stubble fields last and nabbed this dog cub after sitting around for an hour. Quite disappointed with the rest of the evening though as the farmer had cut another three fields and there was nothing to be seen in two of them ....... maybe someone else in the area lamped them before I got there . How did you get on last night Jimmy . I did see another in a half cut field but as I was on the road when I saw it by the time I could get into the field it was offski:angry: . Heres hoping tonight will be a better night
  16. Well the farmer was out combining other fields today so hopefully a bit more fun tonight. I am going to check my zero first !! How are you getting on with the foxes?
  17. Both of those were shot using night vision. I tend to only use the lamp when driving about trying to spot them, then off with the lamp straight away and use the NV. So I don't need to worry as much about them being lamp shy and don't worry about using filters.
  18. Hmmmmm ..... and we all know why it was only used twice :whistling: Perhaps cos they are shite !
  19. On the permission nearest my house I saw the farmer had been combining a couple of his fields:D so we headed out last night with high hopes of seeing a few foxes mooching about. When we arrived at the farm we headed over to the first field behind the farm buildings. We were slightly disappointed when we ralised the field hadn't been baled and the lines of straw were knee height and large enough for a fox to duck and dive behind and make shots from ground level more difficult:angry: Luckily we there were some bales for us to climb on to get a better view of the field and once we were
