  1. No sooner than I had got down to the farm last night and I had put some bait out for the foxes it started raining:wallbash: . Not wanting to turn round and drive the 20 mile home straight away I sat patiently in the motor using the NV monocular every few minutes to see if anything was mooching about ........... after two and a half hours of rain and seeing absolutely all I decided to call it a night. Sods law that after getting 5 mile up the road it stopped raining , so I decided to swing by the chicken farm for a quick drive around and parked up by the filed where I shot three the other nig
  2. Shame it wasn't a couple of months ago as I was down in North Wales loads whilst visiting my Mum who was in Ysybty Bangor ! I won't be back that way for a while, sadly she passed away and although my old man still lives in Pwllheli he is such hard work, so I won't be visiting for a while.:realmad: Great part of the world the lleyn Peninsula, with such varied terrain, even saw some cubs in the fields on the way into Bangor when I was down in August . Good luck anyway. If you are ever up this way I would be happy to take you out:thumbs:
  3. Nah, I just can't get used to shooting out of a window , I prefer to shoot of the the roof or the bonnet lol ! Now I have seen you do a running shot :notworthy: but I have yet to see you do your long range shots yet old man I will be heading down to the other farm tomorrow night to sit out for a couple of hours and see if ole charlie appears, I will let you know how it goes 135 yards shot at standing Fox.... 160 yards shot at a running left to right shot... How far out is a long range shot !!! my best is 365 yards...but that was a great deal of luck I would say a

  5. If anyone is after a SKAN SWIFT I have just put mine up for sale in the FOR SALE section.
  6. I thought I would try to make more effort with some photos lol . Are you headed over this way at the weekend then?
  7. Great photos, some great foxes there, keep em coming
  8. Nice one Jimmy, good going considering how bad the weather turned with the mist and fog. :clapper:
  9. Thought so, it certainly looked like it had seen better days.
  10. Headed out with my mate Jamie tonight to get him a few bunnies for his ferrets and to see what foxes were milling around. First of all in keeping with danebrewer10's :db: hunters etiquette we blessed the ammunition we were going to use, some 55gr Holy-Max which arrived in the post from the Vatican yesterday blessed by the pope himself (so I was told), so we knew we could rest easy knowing we were being respectful to our quarry. We headed out just after 9pm to the first farm and bagged a few bunnies but saw no sign of Charlie despite there being a ewe carcass left on the hill. After h
  11. Well done. That fox looks a bit thin, or is it just the way the phot was taken. Was it an old un ?
  12. Good going Billy ! Both nice sized foxes .... maybe you could have taken a photo of them with your rifle lying across them and used a soft focus to make the photos more respectful for danebrewer10 :whistling:
  13. Never had a problem with mine, just don't go trying to take out the 50w buld that is in to replace it with a 100w bulb though as it will melt you cables and also damage the reflector !
  14. Sounds like you will be spending a lot of cash
  15. Fair play to the old guy .... it was a cracking shot ! :notworthy: and it goes without saying my lamping skills were impressive I am sure the fox would have respected being killed by such a skilled shot:whistling:
  16. Having read some of the posts what a load of rubbish some people speak in an effort to make themselves sound prim and proper ! In terms of respect.......if you mean do I go for a clean kill of course isn't that what we all do! As far as posting graphic pictures this is a hunting forum and if the post is marked 'Explicit Photo' you have the choice to look or not. In general you are exposed to just as much or even more graphic imagery on TV all the time. It is a matter of personal preference if you wish to view these programmes and pictures. If other people want to do the'arty farty'
  17. NIce shooting ! Like the video. Hope you said a prayer afterwards or Danebrewer10 will have you marked as a nutjob
  18. Jimmy you for got to mention .....the bullets were blessed with holy water and after they were shot we said a prayer. I can also confirm rather than slinging them into the hedge, both of us holding a cord each slowly and respectfully lowered the deceased foxes into the hedge. Is this respectful enough for dane?
  19. Went out last night shooting ! I hope this write up doesn't offend anyone, no 'trophy' photos no mention of anything that can offend people. THL wil be boring from now on in
  20. ***NOW SOLD*** I originally bought the silenced shotgun for shooting crows in a wood adjacent to a campsite but since moving house two years ago I no longer go to that permission and am in need of funds for a new rifle scope so it kinda makes sense this should be sold first : It has had less than 500 cartridges through it ( I bought 1000 and still have 500 ....to be sold seperately). The stock is wooden and has a few scratches but the apart from that it is is great condition. The sound reduction is brilliant....sounds slightly louder than a spring air rifle! Asking £250.
  21. It was fine.....lot less chavs this year
  22. Great shooting, don't see much daylight foxing shots:thumbs:
  23. .... the sound of shotguns may damage their hearing without ear protection:thumbs:
