  1. Welcome to the THL:welcomeani:
  2. Not cheap ! Just a thought....... I wonder if they would be quite good for plinking at with the rifle at 300-400 yards !
  3. I had a wee vixen last night Probably going out again on Thursday Remember and take your camera:thumbs:
  4. .....thought you were being awfully quiet John:headshot::
  5. The only link I could find is for here click here . It is in the US but even if you have to pay a little extra it will probablly be cheaper then getting them in the UK. Ask them to mark it as 'gift' on the customs declaration and as it is under 50 dollars you shouldn't have to pay any import duty etc.
  6. Until the hunting with dogs ban is overturned (which I am in favour of being overturned by the way!), to a certain degree I think think the subject of foxing with rifles is always going to get the back up of the guys that have dogs and I would be fairly confident to say that if the law changed the forum would have more photos of foxes being posted on the dog section than on the shooting section, and I would have no problem with that at all. As has been often said there are good and bad in every sport.
  7. That had crossed my mind....either that or there is another forum somewhere !
  8. get a camera..... thanks for the suggestion, but I took photos of all of them on my mobile ... any other ideas? get a DOG ? Not my cup of tea I am afraid ..... nice try though lol !

  10. I have shot 42 so far this year.
  11. With a bullet falling out of the case before the ogive touches the lands when using an AOL gauge, the way around it is to hold the fifle pointing upwards vertically push slider until bullet touches lands - lock off, then measure the bullet from base to ogive then add this figure to the amount the plastic rod on the gauge is protruding from the neck - this will give you your distance from the lands If you are already shooting with an accurate load, then measure what the ogive is on your chasen distance and then deduct this figure from the known distance from the lands to tell you how far ba
  12. Just curious now that we are into October and that some of the dog foxes will be on the move how is everyone else doing on the foxes ? There doesn't seem to be the same volume of posts on the forum as last year......why? What kind of numbers have you shot so far this year?
  13. Doing our best . I must admit that the chicken farm is the best permission i've got as there always seem to be foxes going about......is there much about at your end?
  14. Headed out last night with HW100 Sniper (Billy) who came over as my guest. We headed down to the chicken farm for a mooch about and headed up to the one shed where you are generally guaranteed to see a fox (shot four there this last week:gunsmilie: ) and we soon spotted a pair of eyes. Even though we were using NV and the remote u-caller (for the first time) this fox was staying well away . We played cat and mouse with it for nearly an hour trying to get it to take interest in various calls....until we ran out of call to use ! and we had tried circling behind it to another field and calling
  15. ....that like asking how long is a piece of string:whistling: . More helpful to add some info like 'I am going to reload and want to keep costs down' or I only want to shoot foxes out to 200 yards etc
  16. sorry no picture says file to big..oh well was a nice picture.. Very nice Andy What load and powder are you using and whats your rifle setup ? load is a 55 grain v-max over 41 grains h380 which is safe in my 22/250 Tika T3 with harris swivel bipod,T8 moderator and topped with a simmons 3.5-10x50 super night view scope. Thats quite a punchy little load.... that must be pushing 4000ft/sec and right upto the max pressure? I have been using 36.1gr of N140 with 52gr A-max which seem to be doing alright but I am going to try some 55gr Nosler Ballistic tips on my next batch
  17. ..... as above but remember that it must state deer on your FAC also.

  19. I havent ever seen a newbie where he hasnt posted..... And i wasnt calling him, if he wants to have the most posts on here, then thats his choice, just seems a boring past time, and a waste, when he could be out with the dogs.. How sad you noticed it in the first place:whistling:
  20. Wish I did get some free eggs ! I have a mate who also has some free range chickens and he has been promising me some of his eggs for months but still no joy with him either No machine gun but it did require a quick second follow up shot to finish her off.
