That is fine when you live in sunny England and not so good when you live in feckin freezin rainy Scotland lol, and I got a feeling it is going to be a harsh winter this year and it would be nice not to have the wind and rain in the car for a change. The garage are cracking on with it tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes

Dropped my car at my garage for my lightforce 170 with the remote handle to be fitted to the roof of my 04 reg L200 and the mechanic says the support bar runs down the middle and he would need to fit it off-centre which makes me nervous, anyone else had this problem on a L200 and did you find away around it? ....picture of it would be nice as proof he can do it! I reckon he is bluffing as it is slightly more complicated than he anticipated and is looking for me to give him an easy option

.....now that is seriously impressive! I got 2 mallard and a pinkfoot, pales into insignificance really!

....you have only really just started scratching the surface......that is only your first rifle.......you will soon want to upgrade your optics and then you will decide that another calibre will come in handy and then the vicious circle starts again......followed by the 'maybe it would be cheaper if I home load my ammo' so then you you spend a few hundred quid on reloading too!......then you realise that reloading for accuracy requires patience and more bits of reloading kit......basically it is never ending.......don't forget you will need either an expensive lamp or NV scope too lol -
http://www.thesun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4075875/Bear-Grylls-adventurer-dies-in-wild.html ...pretty shitty that it was several weeks before they found him, poor sod, all he needed was a mobile phone and solar charger and he would be still alive today!

....this is something the shooting community could do without at the moment, whilst the politicians are on holiday and not much business news the papers will love a story like this.
-
.. I think you may be confused, my understanding is that you have to complete level 2 within three years, it has nothing to do with level 1 . Once you pass level 1 that is a permanent qualification.

.....yep, by the time I found this out it was a bit late for me, my left ear rings all the time, I have to sleep with the fan on next to the bed to provide some noise else it is so annoying trying to get to sleep with the ringing in my ears.

As the man says, if you haven't observed the behaviour then there could be something wrong with it, unlikely but there is a possibility. At the end of the day it is your call whether you think 'best practice' is there to help or not. :hmm:

FFS MODS Lock this topic it is going nowhere.. :rtfm:

...to me its as if the govt (and it would have happened regardless of who was in power ..... they are all as bad as each other) are trying to shut the gates after the horses have bolted ! The damage has been done and we will pay the penalty of feckless governments including our own and from all over europe for the next 20 years. I used to think about planning for my retirement, now my attitude has change, I live life for the now and if I end up poor when I retire well I will worry about that then !

I had a 12g single barreled baikal, quiet as a mouse, nice and light but had a barrel the size and length of a scaffold pole.

If you have cash that you would like to invest but are nervous (and rightly so) about investing in share/unit trusts etc then I would be investing in gold which is one of the safest investments in my opinion, it has been around for thousands of years! Look at the gold price history http://www.goldprice.org/gold-price-history.html . Given the current financial climates any other investment is very high risk in my opinion.

This topic is a perfect example of a what shouldn't be happening with topics ! 62 posts later and people bitching about not bitching .....it gets boring after a while FFS PLEASE LOCK THE TOPIC

dave1372 replied to k3lv's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns

Binocular harness, what d'you recommend?
dave1372 replied to Tyla's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Something like this may suit you then : http://www.scottcountry.co.uk/products_detail.asp?productID=2672&froogle=true You can always add a bit of leather as a flap to cover them if you are not keeping them under your jacket. I have them and they are fine for my needs. -
sgc or fac with criminal record .....possible or not ?
dave1372 replied to k3lv's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
before I comment can I ask what your other offences were? -
The annoying thing is that it would be best practice to report this to the police however when the press get hold of it, it would be twisted out of all proportion and put all shooters in a bad light as per usual. :censored: :censored:

 ...as the man says it can do the job but would not be the preferred choice for the simple reason of animal welfare. I have seen foxes run on when shot with bigger calibres, so I would imagine the number of runners you would get would be significant to say don't use a .22rf . There are people who maybe shoot very well with them and have a very high success rate but we all have a bad shot now and again and the margin for error with .22rf is far greater.

I think I am correct in saying that if you want any Forestry Commision leases then .270 is their preferred calibre, feel free to correct me if I am wrong chaps.
