  1. ....the yanks certainly have a diverse array of quarry to hunt. They even hunt alligators with rifles ! I was watching Swamp People on the 'History Channel' : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsP3DNUen_g
  2. ....Give the guy a break and get a sense of humour ....he shot a couple of rabbits and took a funny picture ...... deal with it . Welcome to THL Federal :welcomeani: .
  3. It's a shame that judges like him are few and far between.. It's also nice to see the police use some discretion for a chance, they could easily have charged the lad for wounding. Let's hope that this sets a precedent. :notworthy: AT LAST .....SOME COMMON SENSE APPLIED AND SANITY RESTORED TO THE BRITISH JUSTICE SYSTEM :toast: :toast:
  4. Whilst we are differentiating the different types of travellers can you help answer these questions for us : Where do tinkers fit into the equation or is that just general slang? What is a travellers description of a p i k e y or is that just slang too? .....not taking the piss but how many travellers actually get a P60 each year?
  5. ...I was trying to keep it relatively simple for the guy :11:
  6. Basically most people I know use .22lr for shooting rabbits at about 60 yards but if you are more proficient then upto 100 yards (most people I know shoot them at around 60 yards as the quality/accuracy of some .22 rimfire ammo is a bit inconsistent for consistent humane shots at 100 yards). The other reason the ,22lr is popular is because most people use sub-sonic amoo which with a moderator makes it very silent compared to the .17hmr which is a lot noisier. The trajectory of the .22lr is more 'loopy than' the .17hmr which uses more more powder with a smaller head which gives it a flatter
  7. There are a whole array of different calibres to choose from. In general the simplest way of understanding it is something as follows: The higher the caliber the greater the stopping power but the harder it is to control. So a high calibre rifle is needed for larger animals but you will also feel more of a kick from the recoil of a higher calibre. Let's say you wish to hunt rabbits then .17hmr or .22lr rimfire are generally what most people will use. . For foxes then a choice of .22 centrefires are usually a good choice. Typically the loads (or bullets) for these weapons can be v
  8. ....It didn't take a genius to work out who was going to win .....the mad tattooed psycho  ...or ........ baby faced guy ....... . Lets face it no-one would really want to mess with that nutter.....and if anyone says they would then I will quite happily try and arrange it cos it would be a great fight to watch :D
  9. .....after watching 'Swamp People' on the Discovery Channel the other night I would fancy having a go at alligator hunting in Louisianna .... they bait a line in the swamp and later on see if the gator has took the bait then they pull it to the surface and you have to try and put a bullet in its head before you get draggged over board and eaten ! ..... I imagine that would get the adrenaline going. .....alternatively I would have to have a go at shooting coyote.
  10. ......so I've heard if you are getting things posted over from abroad then ask the seller if they can mark the customs declaration as 'ITEM FOR REPAIR' which means you don't have to pay import tax.
  11. You might want to tell people where you live buddy ..... bit of a difference in travelling times from Devon or Cumbria
  12. .... I agree forget right or wrong its just social suicide: Shoot a dog to save a couple of hundred quids worth of liverstock - all that will happen is you get you car vandalised every couple of months, tyres slashed, house windows broken and for the next couple years your missus will nag you to death! All because the press get hold of the story and all of a sudden every dog guy/anti with a 10 mile radius wants to exact some kind of revenge. ......shit to think that, but true!

    RE PROOFING

....not 100% sure but I take it you could try some of the NikWax reproofing range.
  14. ..... I remember a few years ago when a medium sized cross breed dog started to attack my border collie when we were out walking. My dog was walking to heel when this dog came and I reckon its owner was the guy on the opposite side of the field. Luckily I remembered something I saw on a programme about vicious dogs about grabbing them by the back of the collar and lifting them right up onto their hind legs which renders them pretty useless ..... which at this point although my dog which is not aggressive did give it a couple of good bites before I hurled it on its way and it limped off.
  15. ......f*ck that for a job can you imagine how much a tower like that would sway even in a light wind at that height :notworthy:
  16. That looks great ! I imagine the postage would be a bit on the pricey side with the weight of it . Where do you live you may get some local guys interested?
  17. I thought it may be better than ' thieving, tax dodging, dirty travellers' ..... and I have yet to meet one that isn't all of those things . if only you had the balls to say it to a mans face go and grow a set :showoff: I have and would do again
  18. I thought it may be better than ' thieving, tax dodging, dirty travellers' ..... and I have yet to meet one that isn't all of those things .
  19. After watching the big fat gypsy wedding dicumentary it got me wondering ..... if most of them can't read or write then how do the younger ones manage to learn and pass the driving theory test?
  20. Its pretty sh*tty out East Lothian/Midlothian with rain and 30mph+ winds..... more like you need a snorkel and harpoon gun than using a rifle :wallbash:
  21. Just wondering if any of you guys out there have made their own cheek pads/comb raisers ? If so I would be interested to know what you used and how they look.
