  5. Don't tit about getting things made, just get one of these or something like. http://www.tooled-up.com/ManProduct.asp?PID=2791 Used one instead of a normal probe for years, pushes through better, is as easy to listen to as any thing else, is ideal in baked hard clay, stone and shingle instead of a grafter. Nice to have a listen to whats going on before digging I think. Oh, and I have yet to injure any of mine or anyone elses dogs with it, not sure about the quarry though as I shoot first and ask questions later

  7. If it wants to get there it will try to get there and show determination to get there would be a better way of describing larger game dogs that are of the right sort in my opinion. However, the laws of physics apply, unless your an Octopus, them mothers can get anywhere

  11. Another Maggie ? Most people would kak their pant's if one came along. She and her Government had the forsight to see that we are no longer the Workshop of the World and started to adjust our economic out put accordingly. Any of those left wing, loony f*ck witts who dissagree then go out and buy British, not made in China, Pakistan, India or Taiwan. We've been overtaken in pretty much every industry because we have priced our selves out of the market, made it virtually impossible for anyone to invest here because of stupid employment laws, taxation and the cost of living. The thing

  16. The only person you have to satisfy is the people receiving the pups, if they are the people they should be, they will know the breeding and be happy to accept them, not pay for them and also be trusted to do the right thing with the pup's. If both parents have impressed enough then nothing else will come into question. On another note, do you think Pele is still throwing a decent strain of black 'un at his age ?
  17. Some more meat on the bones of the thread. We spent 3 days over in the South of Finland, third year in a row and had a ball, our host's looked after us very well and spent the time hunting with some very capable working terrier men and women from Finland. Dogs used were smooth blacks and Fox terriers, excellent Badger dogs. Lots of learning once more, about how the blokes over there go about the job, the more specialised tools they use and of course coping with the weather ( - 8 at one point was the warmest day, - 15 the average, depending on how the wind blew ). Every dig was pro
  18. They use Fox Terriers taken from England in the '50's and kept true to their working lines. The host favours smooth dogs and the Wire Fox terrier belongs to the lady in Orange, yes Lady, excellent on the shovel and very knowledgeable about Terrier work. Wolfie's pup did a cracking job on a 'double dig', the Finns digging to the pup at 1.5. meter's and the Pomms doing a 3 meter job, they beat us to their dog, just. Owner of Wolfies pup was very pleased with the dog, keeping the game in one place while the racket of digging through frozen soil is going on is a job well done in my opi
