  1. Can i just say on here a big thankyou to Owdnorthener for meeting up with me at Cluny clays today and spending 3 hours watching me atempting to hit clays whilst giving me some brilliant advice. The advice was really appreciated and i did hit a few clays. More to the point i met through this site a new friend and we are going to be shooting pigeons next week hopefully. This site proves that although there are a lot of fannies out and about, there are still a few good guys willing to help people in need, Del.
  2. Cracking looking animal this one buddy, Del.
  3. Would really appreciate taking you up on the offer Alan. Will pm you with my mobile. I have shot in the past as i stayed on a farm for 10 years and i can hit a running rabbit no problem but when i point my gun in the air, i am sh*t. I was at my sons 2 weeks ago to shoot vermin as he is a keeper and i did manage to shoot 20 pigeons and 9 crows but this cost me 95 cartridges. My boys boss said, next time i come up i have to buy a bag of wheat and scatter it around as i will be cheaper feeding the birds than shooting them. Mind you, if it came to digging foxes i would give him a run for his money
  4. Thanks for reading this lads. I have recently got 22 rim fire and shot gun certificates. I have a 12gauge over and under that i bought from a friend. I have a fair bit of ground to shoot on as i am terrier man for local hunt and im friendly with a lot of farmers. I want to concentrate on pigeons. I have been setting out decoys to bring them in. My problem is TRYING TO HIT THEM. I have tried aiming in front, aiming at them, aiming behind them and although i am getting a few, i would like to be able to hit a lot more. Is there anywher in Fife that you know of who would give me lessons or anyone
  5. I just paid £6 for a box of 25 at my local gun shop. Am i the only one on here being ripped off, Del. p.s. I am new to this shooting game.
  6. A terrier that doesnt stay till it is dug with out being called out is a quitter ...a jacker ..a spewer ...it has walked of the job end off story ....there is no doubt some of they types have there uses ...There will be many lads that dont realise what differant types of terrier with all sorts of situations and uses is needed on a hunt Del glad to see you have put your toys back in the pram when some lads dont agree with things you have written ..this would be a boring forum if we all thought the same if you keep dogs to dig to i agree whole heartedly but if you keep terriers to bo

  16. I got my pair of swarovski 10 by 42s serviced 2 weeks ago and the bill was £518 for servicing. A hell of a lot of money but they have came back in showroom condition. In fact a few guys that looked at them reckon swarovski have sent me brand new ones. I dropped them from my quad and knacked them but now i will be trying my best to mollycuddle them for the rest of my days. To buy these are approx £1800. I had cheap ones and I was in Aberfeldy stalking a couple of years ago and could hear stags roaring but couldnt spot them untill i borrowed my mates swarovs. They are brilliant and it is like ni

  20. Think he just means they needed a harder dog that would take hold to finish the job the bayer couldn't mate. so even after you knew the place could not be dug, you went away and got another dog and put him to ground as well in the same spot . Think he just meant they needed a dog that would take hold to finish the dig mate Thanks for that Corky, I did have to have a tougher dog fetched to draw him out as the bayer would not mix. My dogs are not perfect but suit me. If i could have shot the fox with the 22 pistol i wouldave but he was out of site under this boulder and kept nipp
