  1. I managed to grow one last year, they are a powerful chilli. I took a pod to work one day for sampelling and just the aroma from the sliced chilli made peoples eyes water. This year from last years seeds I've got 3 seedlings. Anybody got an experience with these..THINGS?.
  2. It's My Lad's 4th birthday today...how do I even remember that?.Must be sad. He's a Lakeland Fell Middleton strain,turned out a good yan,best steak for tea tonight...dunno what I'm having. Happy birthday Sedge.
  3. Have you seen those hundreds and thousands variety?. Loads of little toms from a flowering basket. I fancy having a grow at those.
  4. Ailsa Craig...me Dad swore by them. Had a go last year but they were poor. This year hopefully they'll do allright without that blighty thing.
  5. I couldn't agree more. I had never owned a dog up until 4 years ago, bought the lad, originally as a pet from a local breeder, took him home and thought 'what do I do with him'. Soon got him down the pub where there a few Terrier men and was advised to work him. I didn't know too much about about working dogs, but the best advice was to let him develop his own character and instinct will follow. He's taught me more about ratting and rabbiting than any book could have.
  6. Expecting it soon in Cumbria.
  7. Feel for you mate. Got kicked in the chest playing football a good few years back,1 broken and two fractured ribs.....the pain!!!. Doctor said no physical activity for 6 weeks...I was engaged to a lass at the time.....her face was a picture of fury.
  8. A Freckleton resident has been found guilty and fined £100 for allowing dog fouling, £100 for being out without the dog being under control, £100 costs and £15 victim support making a total of £315.00. http://www.freckletonparishcouncil.org.uk/ So if I wanted to visit me old Ma in Freckleton (Fylde), who has known me dog since he was a pup,and I travel down from the Lakes for over an hour, and the first thing he does whilst off lead is want to relieve himself I'll get smacked for £315.00!!! He's used to being in a field, off lead, snapping rabbits necks mi lud.
  9. Go to the FILE tab,IMPORT on the drop down and the rest is easy.
  10. Popped into Morrisons today they had two leg of lamb bones 'for stock' 40p. Too good for stock I thought, they'll do for the dog, there was a fair few scraps of meat on them as well. Are they ok to feed raw or do they need cooking?.
  11. Not forgetting the Lake District in general.
  12. A li'le smattering here in Kendal,bloody cold though.Perfect.
  13. Not keen on tongue, prefer liver if anything. Cow heel is another matter...I couldn't.
  14. Just had a run in with the neighbours, setting off fireworks in their small yard next to me. The dog is going crazy, they know full well I've a dog ...pure ignorance. They've stopped for now thank God.
  15. Sun is shining now....unbelievable.
  16. Just wondering how anybody up in the Lakes was affected. Rained all day yesterday in Kendal but the river held. Plenty of houses sandbagged this morning though and the river Kent is on it's banks and flowing like thunder.
  17. Agree with that mate. He was biased towards fishing as I remember, sat in his little shed. The thing that sticks with me is how he used to describe in detail how and why it was done.Whether it be fishing, hunting or just general country ways.
  18. Thought as much...nice fella all the same.
  19. Just got messen 'Out of town' vols 1-9 on DVD. I remember watching this fella on tv as a kid. Some good tips for an up and coming young lad, always had a respect for this guy. Is he still with us,I doubt it because he must have been 70 odd when I were a nipper.
  20. Hmmmm.......reminds me of somebody with four legs who's sitting not too far away from me looking all innocent.
  21. I really wanted to watch this programme. I'd been out with the dog and gun on a permission at 5.00am and once I'd got back and done all my jobs i had to do i was completely knackered. I started to watch it but must have fallen asleep and missed everything past the dingo stage. Will it be available on the ITV replay thing on the web?.
  22. Thanks for the replies. He is a Middleton bred dog, three years old now.As I say it doesn't happen all the time. If it was excitement his wagging tail would be a good indicator to me,but it doesn't wag. He's in no discomfort and my only concern, apart from that it is the beginning of something serious, is that he's giving away bad signs to any potential quarrey by shaking.
