Rats have given my dog some nasty nose bites but she still loves catching them. According to the DEFRA website it's ok if your dog just goes running off on its own to catch a squirrel but you mustn't encourage it.

Very nice dog there. I thought grey squirrels were still legal quarry. Tricky to catch anyway when they escape up trees.
