    Fuming

i may be wrong so i may stand corrected on this........if you were not on the keepers land they had no right to detain you and make you wait for the police. they have no right to ask your name or address either. neither can they search you or your car/van. if you were on their land, you still could have made off, because they are not allowed to touch you physically that obstructs you from leaving the land and in effect 'making you trespass'. if they shout warnings 'get off my land' and you leg it they can't do anything. trespass is a civil matter not police. the police are allowed to search y
  7. no nose, did u actually want to know would it grow out of its timidness or peeing in the house? well.......take the advice given about house training and when you start to praise it the dog's confidence will start to come back and it won't be so timid. goes hand in hand.......it takes time and patience. at least you asked for advice. animals (even humans) learn best from being praised for something they have done right rather than punished for doing something wrong. basics of training, can teach them do anything by sticking to that rule. play nice now...........and let us know how you and the
  8. look like good robust tough dogs. bet they'll be useful if you get them working right. (bugger you lot who take offence at people posting 'nice stamp of a dog you got there mate')
  9. and my bloody kitchen while we are at it. want to see the bedrooms?
  10. so how do you house train yr dog s then or do u let them piss every where ...bet its nice in yr house my house is immaculate mate thanks. on a serious note used the usual training. time and patience. dog put out every 40 minutes or so (especially after meal) kept out for ten minutes so would often end up needing a pee anyways. praised when it peed and shite outside. if dogs did it in the house it was put straight outside. learned without hitting it. don't know if this will work, supposed to be a pic of my house no nose just to prove i don't live in some urine soaked shite smeared

  12. you chose a harsh way to teach your dog. why didn't you rub his nose in the amonia ridden urine and ruin its sense of smell while you at it?

  14. were they the dogs that were used for illegal purposes? can the police prove it was those specific dogs or is it just hearsay? did plod actually see them coursing? ooooooo may have to ring lancs police myself.......................
  15. a very interesting project too GN. will be interesting project so keep us posted. good luck with it GN x
  16. so i believe GN. LL has just given a full explanation of the clipping and the reasons are valid. interesting but redundant if the dog isn't working. just wondered how many in the show ring actually see water that isn't scented with jasmine and has loads of bubbles! I do know a couple of people who own poodles and reckon they are cracking dogs, can't fault them. oh well, each to his own. p.s. whoooo fluffy bits ;-) sorry unclipped portions of the canines coat.
  17. just my opinion (humble as it may be) don't see much point in clipping poodles like that anymore unless they are working. Aren't the fluffy bits (uncut ) supposed to act like floats when they are in the water? only floating about they do (most of them) is around the dog ring! But hey supposed to be intelligent.....
  18. nice dog. spit of my sisters old dog. (except he was usually seen with a moichian dyed with red food colouring!)
  19. cracking attitude poacher! think you are the last of your kind. good on you
  20. cool. enjoyed the virtual walk over your permission. dogs a cracker mate.
  21. i wondered that myself about telling the difference between farmstock etc. as he never bothers with them. yet another question that needs to be answered :-)
  22. out walking a couple of weeks ago with my patterdale in some woods i decided to go off the beaten track. there was lots of ferns, bushes, thick undergrowth etc but every so often there were parts that you could tell something had passed through. as soon as we left the track he was at work, head down, sniffing, double backing on himself, going this way then then that way, getting more excited as we went further into the woods. he took me about a mile into the thick woods and there they were, a herd of of about 7 deers! he'd never done this before even though we'd walked in the woods before. so
