  1. welcome kathy. admirable quality having compassion and respect for your animals needs. hope you find what you are looking for.
  2. know where you're coming from pignut. My patts the same. he will return on command, BUT ONLY WHEN HE WANTS TO AND IF HE HASN'T GOT ANYTHING BETTER TO DO. The focus and determination the dog has is amazing. I am now out of the 'pet closet' and admitted that my 'dog' needs to exercise his natural instincts and hunt. preferably with me in tow!
  3. does he remind anyone else here of a country bumpkin harry hill with hair?
  4. wednesdays, channel 4 at 9pm. I started to buy my meat from a local farm shop cuz' of Hugh and started to eat more offal. I would love to have enough money to live the kind of live that he leads. Hell, im even thinking of getting an allotment!!!!
  5. as far as I can see and of those I ve asked trappa, there is no law about gutting roadside (only sqeamish public), leaving entrails around is not fly tipping and carrying them in public is not illegal (again squeamish people may object or pull faces at you)
  6. nice terriers. Smooth coated is just like mine.
  7. welcome and g'day yourself!
  8. nice bike byrney!

  9. sad day. RIP captain. much respect. (whoops pressed wrong reply)
  10. I think naming something is just a shorthand thing. give it a name and instantly you know without a lenghty description what is being described. If i said I'd got a blue hatch back car, it could be any blue, shape, etc but if I said a new corsa you'd instantly know what it looked like (assuming you knew about cars that is). just my opinion.
  11. getting the salty attitude from you mo fo's, iz dizzy! lol lol lol lol I haven't laughed as much as that in a minute. look like summat out of goldie lookin chain. nice one. made my day!
  12. Hey les. Im also new and from staffs. welcome anyway
  13. cheers lads. Have been taking him out myself and also setting him on rats (that he goes nuts for). Plan to go a couple of the country shows later this year.
  14. I have posted this elsewhere on another thread but not sure who will read it. I don't work my dog at present but want to as he is driving me up the wall with his hunting behaviours. We need taking under an 'experienced cam' jacket' so that the little fella can do some work that he obviously wants to do. I live in Staffordshire so if there is anyone out there willing to show us how, Bob will be more than grateful!!! mail me ta Tracy
  15. I may be going off track here, but I need advice and 'taking under an experienced cam' jacket'. Ok I have been in the closet and denied my dog is a hunter, so yep, Im now out of Narnia cuz' the dog is driving me crackers! He is a patterdale and has just turned 2, he's always been gamey, picks up scents and bolts, flushes rabbits (and has hold of a couple), digs for anything, marks and gets down holes etc. I don't know where to start or the do' and don'ts, is there anyone out there who will take me and my dog under their wing and give us a start please? I live in Staffordshire and it seems a sh
  16. cracking pup! does his lines make him a 'patter-ja-ff'?
  17. what a little belter! rate pimp!
  18. I was told or read, not to let them drink out of puddles near roads or where could be comtaminated with car crap pollution, petrol etc
  19. taught my dog to jump. one time he slipped in wet wood, fell backwards and injured his tail so beware. hasn't put the bugger off though! start small, with a 'jump' command/hand signal and give treats. the 'jump' command can eventually be left off so will just follow hand signal. would only do it if absoluely necessary to work
