u read my mind lol cos there is a stamia,,issue with no ped,s and there coats for weather if there was sulkie blood added to table then that would be over looked lol iam not having a go at ped,s guys,,,as they do have the biggest hearts,,,,and working ones have both,,good coats,,,and i repect them very much but ive had hard blood hit wall,s and tree,s and came off fine ,,,but a ped would not,,,but feet ped,s are maybe best,,i,e dont run as fast but when it comes down to money,,,as its very important this year more than rest,,,,,a non ped 1st cross greyhound wi

Differs from dog to dog imo. what youre running and what land youre running on. i think down to the dog owners ,,,to know whats right my racing is yard lb,,,running weight is a very big part off there life,,,( too heavy - there too slow,,,,too light they have no energy ) some pins show,,on some dogs they dont,,,,but check there chest i,e man boobs if u like,,,thats were dogs fat is stored also ive seen dog,s show no pins,,,but on chest,, there thinner than a piegons chest,,,which aint good ( no energy ) ( its probably an art to get 100% right,,,but a

my black dog in my signature,,,,was doing that last time,,,i was out,,plenty speed ,,,but if feild i noticed he hanged off,,from the strike, and thought about it for a while as he,s not injured,,,,iam thinking off not feeding him for a day,,i bet he strikes then,,a dog on a emty stomach ,is a killer,,,( but i havent tryed it yet with him,,but iam convedent i will be right )--( but there,s no garentee if it will work,,,,but thats dogs for u )

just let pup play in garden,,,but if u mean for training to lead,,,just round the block ,,should do i did have a pup i used to take every where with me,,and ended up with a couple inflamed joints in toes,,,vet told me that was down to repetive training or walking ,,,weather he was right or not,,he hit the nail on the head,,i took that pup every where with me,when i went for walks what i now do is take pups round the block or park which is about 200yrd away and have fun with them in park not till there over 6 months i let them come with me with the older dogs on my walks 2 or 3 mile

i would have to agree with mally, im sure mb has added this- fair play but there not what you think your buying iam in greement with mallys as well,,,,the whippet is too well built,,,,me having a b.w.r.a whippet and mally help to deliver ,,which i always greatfull,,as he was born doncater and iam from scotland,,,and b.w.r.a whippets were commanly breed from bull in the 1930,s to 40,s,,,,,,,and i myself has helped deliver in past bully whippets in past 1980,s & 90,s,,,,,,but i do think these throw backs should be given there slot in whippet,s,,like i said in above they have there q

nice powerful black whippet if u have there,,,,i have a very powerful b,w,r,a whippet picture below,,,,,athough he might be frowed apon in racing terms as might ur dog in hunting ,,,due too size & bulit,,,there,s no gettin away from the fact these built whippet,s bring to the breeding table,,,,( power & jaw power --being not to bad from the whippet side,,if put on bigger game,,,) i did noticed if pll,s breed down to a whippet,,,but dont want to lose to much built,,and power ur dog would defentily fitt the bill,,,but there is pro,s and cons ,,,,but i dont see u ,,,quite when it come

had to have a toe removed last year,,,didnt want to at 1st,,gave dog plenty rest ,,brought him back ,,the problem came back time and time again,,,wasted almost a year with his toe,,,so i got it tooken off, if iam honest i should have done it sooner,,,they say 6 weeks and dog,s running about again after op,,mine took more 10weeks what i would say gettin toe wasnt cheap,,,the x ray bumps it up a bit,,i was ok cos this dog has cover,,( if its possible to avoid a xray,,,as toe,s broken anyhow,,,and gettin tooken off anyhows ,,might safe u a few pennys ( if thats what u decide to do here,s

was out2nite,,,,not much off a moon took my smallest whippet out,,,,not done much on lamp,,,,was dissapoint in his prefomance,,,he wasnt turning as he normally does,,he should off had a few but i was pleased with his behaviour to the lamp,,,as its all new to him, once chase was over ,,he was starght back to heel,,till he got the command on another rabbit in the beam cos it was lashing it down earlyier on ,i didnt think i was going to go out ,but then the rain stopped,,,i did give him a good feed at tea time ,,,and i cant help thinking that might off payed a big factor in his

my bro had a young whippet that used to cramp up somtimes when racing,,,,,an old bloke told him a spoon full off tin tomatoes in with her meal and it done the trick ,,about a month later she won a top ten open and i must addimitt when i 1st heard it mentioned i thought ,,is this old guy crazy but there u go i learned somthing new that month tomatoes are good for dog,s ,,in the right ammounts

( i,e maybe not to hand but aleast he aint running off,) i think uve done the right thing by not making a big deal about it,,,and let him carry it for awhile,,,,,aleast ur not giving him in to trouble for carrying his catch maybe more practice in feild with dummy or dead game ,,,and praise him for retriving to hand and treats,

i have racing dog,s but i let them catch rabbits as i think it,s very impotant to there training,,,,,,some will catch live to hand ,,,othere,s will as ur dog did make sure its dead 1st before bringing to hand,,crunching ribs e,t,c there,s one thing ive noticed is ,,,all my dog,s will retrive,,there quarry,,although i dont train them to,,,but at end off the day u train them to kill,,,,and ur dog does excactly what u tell them to do there are exceptions i spoke to an experenced lurcher guy in the summer,,,,,,i put to him ,,,why does my dog retrive to hand if i didnt train them
