there will always be debate on this,,,,as martain right,,,,,they are three types off whippet breeds,,,,,,,kc / working and bwra,,,,,,,now kc will never regonice bwra,,,,,but they wont even regonice there own in they go over weight and size bwra ,,,,if there under 32lb,,,,,fine,,,,,if not there scratch racer,s they dont get class as whippets,,,,35lb if nnwrf,,,ect yes there greyhound blood involed,,,,,,but kc hold that gen as well,,,,( they might not like that but hey ho its a fact),,,,,,,,,,,,its a hard one too call,,,i dont want to get into debate about it,,,,,,but end off,,,,,ull ge

There is no non ped racing over here so that is why paris races in lurchers and ernie should have been likewise and any pups out of him should be entered as lurchers not whippets hardbloods are not aloud to race against ped whippets at their club,,,,but a ped can race against a hardblood at there club,,,,,as there is advantage when there,s greyhound blood involed 1st rule in non peds ,,,,are if ur dog is smooth coated and off whippet apperance,,,,u can race,,,,,,same rule should in theory apply to lurcher racing events that have whippet racing,,,,but there will always

if the topic title was pure whippet vs 3/4 whippet 1/4 grey,,,,,,,,,,,,,i would say 3/4 whippt 1/4 greyhound,,,but that just my oppion,,,,depends what u want them to do but as topic says whippet vs whippet cross,,,,,,,i dont have answer for ,,,,as how long is a peice off string,,,????? as whippet crosses could mean anything,,,,and u get good and bad in pure or crossing out on here u hear alot about pure,s,,,,,and 1st crosses,,,,whip / greys i think the 3/4 whip 1/4 grey never get the mention it deserves,,,,,,one either there not mentioned as there no good,,,,i find that ha

whip x grey replied to SPOTTY BACKED BIG RACK's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i was just thinking that even as a racing guy,,,,pleantly scratch breed racers take deer,,,,some master it,, trip up hind legs when running,, ,,,then straight for the throut,,,pre ban but this question seems to be asked every week,,,,,, its a thing off the past now ,,,,or aleast kept to one self -
i would pick,,,,5 peoples that didnt post 1000,s of post,s per week i,e computer geeks ,,,,as they wouldnt have the time and my fantastic food would go to the dogs

,,,, my old man use to race whippets at thorton,,,,when i was 5yearold,,,,the prick didnt get the bus,,,,he made me walk 4/5 miles,,,,,,too save 10p on bus fair,,,,so he could buy bottle off ironbrew,,,,for the day,,,,, money was tight then,,,,,,but i rember thorton being quite muddy and straw,,,,,,but straw was pushed to the side,,,,lol espeailly if they had a flood,,,,,,ive heard off alot off whippets and greyhounds jacking when they ran into the straw,,,,,,must have confused them abit, not all very few and far between ,,,,,,,,good times thou,,,,,,i was brought up

its a good rule off thumb cat like feet but if greyhound run on sand,,,,,the rule off thumb,,,,,is gone,,,,,,,,ull find wrist problems and broken legs are the norm,,,,,,,for them now me as a whip x grey racer,,,,,,,dew claws are almost a must to have off as pup,s due to them still running hard summer ground ( grass with no chance off rain ) the further south the harder the ground can be where greyhounds dont bother,,,,as thats not main problem,,,,they have to bother with anymore,,,,,,,,iam not saying there not tough at what they do,,,,as in some events,,,,and there speed,,,,they

denned,,,,there wasnt much,( advantage off being the lure driver,,,u get the feel when dog,s are going for it ),,,,,i did notice bills dog was gettin slower,,,as races went on ,,,,and last year was diffrent as allmost bobs & paddy were still running away after run after run after run and they showed no sighns off slowing that day,,,,but me and david were talking after last year saying we caught the lurcher guys with there pants down in 2010 ,,,,,,but when 2011 race comes they will not be caught with there pants down again but unfortunally allmostbobs and paddy ,,werent avilible to race

cheers mate...av had to step in a few times as theyve had a right good grip on each other........am quite happy to let them sort it out but at the same time a dont want either dog hurt or a permanent rift developing...atb..chris.. when u do step in make sure they both get the rough end off the stick,,,,,,and they know they both did wrong,,,,dont hold back,,,,,,,,,ur the top dog,,,,,,,there nothing worse than an unhappy kennel,,,,,dont hold back on the agrresser in the fight,,,,somtimes it,s both dogs,,,ull know ,,,,,,,remeber ur the master,,,,,,,,,,,for me its easy as mine are small

its the pecking order,,,,,,had same problem with my white/parti,,,,,and black dog,,,,,,,,,,my black dog would take white/parti,,,,,but white/parti,,,,,see,s himself as the as top dog,,,,,,they learned to except each other,,,in time its strange the pecking order,,,,,cos if a fight broke out,,,,,,my fawn one ,,,,who just stays out off it,,,,,,would win hands down,,,due to him being the most powerful dog in my pack,,,and abit off alunatic,,,when his blood boiling hunting or racing i do step in when there is disgreement between them,,,,,as it show,s them iam the top dog ,,,not them
