    If you are going the download route then if you look at this page: http://shootingcommunity.co.uk/verminshooting.htm You will see a loink to a 20minute track of a vixen on heat, it is made up of the call and periods of silence. I have this on a phone, set it playing at a likely spot and then retreat to my firing point and sit and wait. Can be quite effective Jerry

    I did my DSC1 a couple of months ago and echo what has been said. Get the deer quest CD, it is not 100% up to date on the current legislation but is a great tool to test your knowledge and revise. Read the manual cover to cover a couple of times at least. Watch the BDS DVD and also consider getting a set of the disease ID cards, these will come in useful later too. For the shooting test there is only one way to make sure you pass, practice. If you dont regularly shoot off sticks do so a few times at the ranges required by the test. The people on my course found this the hardest

    100gr federal powershok certainly makes a whole, Entry point was middle of the chest and it nearly blew both front legs off, he felt no pain that is for sure.

    Had a cracking evening today with Brian, met up at 7pm on one of my permissions for some bunny bashing to start the evening. Got there to find Brian not happy as he had only bought 9 rounds of .22LR with him. I set up my HMR and he makes a few calls so should have some more ammo soon delivered by his brother. We start sniping rabbits but Brian is not happy with his set up and missed a couple of sitters. I cracked on with the HMR and we soon had half a dozen in the bag without moving more than 10foot from the vehicles. Ammo arrives and I set out a target at 65m for Brian to check hi

    Thought I had better introduce myself, so here it is. Been in country sports all my life, born and raised on a farm in Devon but currently living in Sussex. Moving back to Devon this year to start taking over the farm so my parents can slip into retirement. Started of with air rifles at an early age then bought a 16bore gun when I was 14, still have it in fact and love it as a pigeon gun.     Swede like nice light open sandy soil best, and yes lime is good as they are a member of the brassica family. The best variety if you can find it is Devon Champion, the very best tasting swede that mashes very well developed for the heavitree red soil found in certain bits of devon. You will struggle a little on heavier soils.
