  1. heres one that i caught a couple year ago in some old ponds that i found in a forest whilst out wi the dogs. There pond was surrounded by a high wall off bracken and other cover [bANNED TEXT] i finally fought my way tthrough there was a nice small pond in the middle which had this beauty sunning on top, i went back a couple of days later and had him. One massive problem though... forgot the old scales.
  2. Why is she thick, i think its a completely reasonable question. She's into saluki's and seems curious about other breeds, i think it's good she's asking the question after all asking questions is how we gain our knowledge about he hunting world.
  3. Is there any roads near by? If there is it could of been clipped by a car. Ive seen the same behaviour quite a few times with fallow deer after they've had an encounter with a car, you can walk straight up to them.
  4. Got mine when i was 13, i'm 18 now and got 9 lots of permission best thing to do is be polite, go and ask for the permisssion by yourself and as for it at every farm that you can get to. Have you got any ferrets mate? Your more likely to get permission for ferreting than for shooting then after a few month when the farmer knows he can trust you and your not there just to mess about you should ask for permission with the air rifle.
  5. Vodka n redbull's then when i start gettin drunk i switch onto the pints, drink twice a week thur night n a sat night down town in the clubs
  6. We once caught a fox with one of our old dogs with a chicken in its mouth.
  7. I know what ya mean mate. It does ma head in when dog walkers do that. Thing is when ya dog does end up giving theres a paseting then it all the blame gets put on ya despite ya giving them the warning first.
  8. Ive got a nearly pure grey (she's got a tiny bit of bull in her) She broke the outside toe on her front left paw whilst out ferreting one day, i took her to one vets and they reset the toe and bandaged it all up etc. Then i had the same problem as you, got her back to reasonable fitness but as soon as she coursed a rabbit it went back to how it was before. Any way, i took her to another vets where they said that she should of had it took off the first time as the problem will keep on recurring if she is being 'worked'. She has since had the toe removed and is just as good as she was before in
  9. I have a nearly pure greyhound, she's got the tiniest bit of bull in her which cannot be seen in her looks. She's very fast and will run rabbits, hares and deer (pre ban) all day or night long, i think this show of stamina is from the bit of bull that is in her. The only down side to her is she doesn't like foxes, she'll run them and catch them but as soon as foxy turns round n has ago back she backs right off however, i'm not too bothered about this as i don't see many on the permission ive got. She's a good bitch for ferreting as well, as she has quite a bit of whit about her.
  10. What she work like, i never got to see her work when she was at stoke. Herd she was very game
  11. is that that bitch from stoke mate??
  12. I was working in Hull not so long ago. On the way there and back seen well into double figures, all in threes n fours over many fields from the motorway and the majority of them where just in the middle of fields with no cover near them just a few dykes.
  13. I get all mine from a store that makes furniture and door frames etc, get it in massive bags about 3 ft tall 2 ft wide takes two to lift it. Best thing about it they give it me for nowt
  14. I should imagine so, coz its just like keeping any other meat in the fridge. But we get them every wed n thursday, don't put em in fridge just keep em in garage n give 1 to each dog every night, they seem to like em more when they've been left a couple of days. Must be the scent coming off them of something.
  15. No, they start from one end and just chomp through it until they get to the end which they can't eat coz they can't get a good grip on it.
  16. Personally, i find the cow shin bones are the best coz there plenty of bone marrow inside as well. The other (longer bones) our dog's don't seem to take so much intrest in, don't know why but they just don't.
  17. i feed mine on cow shin bones there quite chunky but the dogs love chewing through them to the bone marrow. Also give them the pelvis which they eat completely. haven't had any problems with them.
  18. ye, felt alot better catching that than catching them out the proper lakes. I've got all the carp gear but i think its a lot more fun just taking a rod down wi just a bit of spare tackle in a bag.
  19. Here's a carp i caught a couple of years ago out of some old natural ponds in some woods near me, i was going down everyday after school for about a week and just throwing in a few dog buiscuits n a couple of slices of bread broken up. I didn't have my scales on me at the time so couldn't tell you exact weight. Unfortunately someone walking their dog seen me land it and within a week there were people setting up with their bivvy's etc. haven't seen the carp since.
  20. Hit the nail on the head there mate. thats a reply to the original post
  21. doubt it too many anti's in this country. wouldn't mind havin ago though.
  22. i dont see why people cant just put them straight in a bag/pocket after the shot, thats what i always do.
