  1. You an all eh Frank? I've set my alarm for 05:00 in the hope I can get to my perms by 07:00 Assuming I get up, it'll take over an hour on the old push hog to get there. Here's hopin
  2. Nice work, my screen ain the best is that a Dove up top with the Woodies?
  3. Do it quietly and down wind. Pretty much the same as daylight, however ranging is a bitch at night until you get used to it Tony
  4. As you say, everyone fluffs the shot now and again I've had my share of them. It is very unpleasant when it happens and I usually make it to the quarry before I could reload and shoot again. Perhaps a second shot would be feasable if I had a multishot, but it's usually me scaring away any other quarry and finalising the kill with a kneck pull. I then spend the time figuring out what I did incorrectly while waiting for the next quarry to come out of hiding. Tony
  5. No worries Jim, Most of us are here to help Be nice to see her fully restored Tony If this posts 3 times is the sh!te internet on my phone
  6. Im afraid that In that condition, very little if anything. Tony
  7. Yeah, 5 to 7 ft/lbs is my gues oh here http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24263&cat=Gamo+Cadet Tony
  8. Try Gunspares.co.UK for diagram and parts Tony
  9. From what I've heard, if you follow the instructions correctly and precisely its pretty accurate. .......But given the cost of buying a 100 foot tape measure and all the faffing about setting it up I'd say invest in the chronograph Tony
  10. Refund or replace Demand it you paid for the gun not the air leak! Tony
  11. Had lovely sun up here this morning, fecking snowing again now! So much for being 4degrees above freezing today!
  12. You all know who it was and you've allowed that creature to get away scott free? Antifreeze can be dangerous stuff if not handled with care More likely to be a sub-2 Umarex model and very close range. All the ones capable +5 ft/lbs take a serious time to reload, things like the Sheridan's EB, Crosman's, Alecto and HW45 etc.... Even the lower 2+ ones are nearly (if not all) single shot. @SRT Im back online using a dongle from O2 so video is out of the question for now Tony
  13. Just got back from the shops, fKin snow! Really P!ss!ng me off at the mo' I want a killing spree but by the time I walk that far, Id be a f'kin popsicle. I'm sort of getting used to having warmth in the appartment
  14. Again thats your interpratation of the law. I own the rifle, however it is held in the gunsafe at Beverley Police Station. The licence is to Possess the gun. Well lets say, before you leave a shop with a gun, new or second hand, have it tested in front of you buy the gunsmith. If your buying a second hand gun from someone, before you part with cash, take a chronograph and check it with light, medium and heavy pellets. Remember that copper I told you about earlier? While I was being assessed at hospital, the police took everything from my home including the frame of a pistolbow wi

  16. This is gonna throw you a curve ball No I don't have any kind of permit or license for my FAC Rated Air rifle. But I'm not breaking any laws (now thats really thrown you hasn't it?)
  17. I should point out here that tony said he was a few feet from the road, not in the middle of it. That would be silly... If you read throught he posts you will see that he stated in 1 of them that he or a person could shoot from the centre of a public highway I think its been a mix up about the definition of a public highway No I dont have my FAC yet. But the police have said I do have a chance of being granted an FAC because one of my rifles that I own is over the 12 limit. I did say from the centre of a public highway again that qualifying condition comes into play as well as t
  18. I do see what you mean But, your statement that I've highlighted is a bit 'Blinkered' for want of a better word, it's your "Interpratation" and our laws are not 100% black and white, they are very open to interpretation. This unfortunately leads to mis-interpratation by a lot of people I also like a good debate
  19. Your fighting a lost battle here AG I have shot across Public Highways on private land. I have shot from public highways (that run across private land) and as mentioned earlier, with a Police officer at the side of me, he didn't arrest me, why? because he has a thorough knowladge of airgun law after I proved him incorrect previously. Instead of getting all high and mighty or heavy handed, he decided to go back and find out the truth. When he sees me going about my lawful shooting now, he comes over to find out how I'm doing. Oh incidently, he was one of the officers who took me to be asses
  20. Correct Public Highways often cross private land. And if there is no one going to be interupted, endangered or injured, then your left with the old "If a tree falls in the forrest and there is no one to hear it, does it make a sound?" scenario.
  21. I am indeed, as long as the conditions of that rule are met The conditions start with "As long as......." Anyone else want to contribute? We've coverd this before numerous times
  22. I would suggest that you go back and re-read and understand the statement regarding the "50ft " rule You can actually sit/stand/lay on the very centre of the public highway and shoot without ANY agro from the Law I often shoot only a few feet from the very busy A64 arterial route into and out of Hull. I do this perfectly legally and I have done so with the Police standing at my side. There is a very specific condition attatched to the 50ft rule. Tony
  23. Torrnet bolt? Sorry you've loste me now
  24. Sure I've seen Neil82 shoot on a couple of occasions, he's a better pyromaniac, but he shoots well Tony
  25. I'd use it But, to be honest, 24 mag for airgun 'hunting' is pretty extreme. Very handy for long range targets though Daylight hunting I tend to stick to 10x or if static (ambush over a warren) 12x in good bright daylight. Low light I use 3.5 or 4 to 6 mag. I once had a scope that was really cheap, 3x to 9x but after 6x the image in bright daylight was like looking through a white washed window! The JSR are renowned for being very decent scopes for such reasonable price Tony
