Pairing Pellets With Rifles?
Phantom replied to GSkye's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Because old Joe is being paid to say that If there was one pellet that fitted all barrels perfectly and grouped equally well, then we would all be buying them. I was trying out H&N FTT in my springer last week at the meet, they were not doing too well and I thought I needed a lot more time reaquainting myself with it, then along came Wurz with some AAF's 5.52mm so I grabbed a few (they were always the preferred choice in that gun) and my grouping came back to how it should be Later I tried a few Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums (they do fairly well in my S200) and the grouping was -
Pairing Pellets With Rifles?
Phantom replied to GSkye's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Barrals are like finger prints, unique. So given two guns of the same type, model etc one may prefer xbrand of pellets, the other may prefer ybrand or they may both group equally, it's a question of trying different pellets with different head sizes until you get the tightest group of five or more shots, that will be the best pellet for your rifle -
nope http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/8389526/City-foxes-are-being-dumped-dazed-and-helpless-on-farmland.html Proves Nowt Paul After watching those Animal rescue rspca documentories on sky and beeb1, I'm sure they said that releasing Foxes and certain species of Deer was illegal : I was also brought up to believe that releasing Foxes was illegal. Now I'm confused

What Caliber In A Springer .177Or.22
Phantom replied to topshot26's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
That means that if shooting .22 to gain the equal score, you have to be at least 90% the better Marksman if shooting .22 -
in law Cats as classed as property and belong to their owners regardless of where they happen to be, and to add insult to injury, their owners cannot be held liable for their actions. the knocking over a dog and having to report it is because a dog is classed as a working animal like horses etc, this is covered in the road traffic act. Cool I shall update Carolines thinking She will be pleased What I don't get though is when I was in a 'Bus Crash' one evening; long story but the house/property owner wasn't too happy to have the front of a double decker where his Televis

It is ABSOLUTELY SICKENING what some scumbags do I have a cat (although truethfully 'he owns me'). He generally eats what I buy for him, but when it comes to fresh meat, he won't leave me alone while I prep Rabbit, Hare, Dove or Woody! I would happily shoot (to suffer) anyone who does not obay the laws of the land I was chatting to a close friend of mine who told me (She's a specialist Cat Breeder who deals in the 'Gremelin look' Cats) She informs me that according to British Law, a Cat is actually considdered as 'Vermin'!!!!! Apparently, if you knock over a dog when driving, it is a

It's not if we let the train take the strain bud Just not at the Old Downs place though pleeeeeaaaazzzeeeeeeee! Load, horn..... Discharge, horn..... reload.... horn, discharge, horn, reload, just get a bead and the f***ing horn goes again!!! If this one had been there we'd still be on our way back tomorrow! As above perfectly adaquate You dont want a wounding shot, but you WILL get them We all do even the best of us, we don't like them and we strive to minimize them at all times, but they will happen. Just be quick with the follow up, by hand at first. I stretch the neck with almost every shot even if I know it's dead before it hit the ground. Trying to follow up with a second shot on your first wounded quarry puts a heap of pressure on you and your likely to panic (most of did at first) making you more likely to fluff the follow up shot as well. They work well at reducing the crack from the muzzle, witch I guess is exactly what they are supposed to do. When your ear is up against the butt of the gun though, you will still here the sound of the action, and it's going to sound like a loud thump, so your not really going to notice a silencers effects at your end; However stand 10 yards down range and you will barely hear the gun if at all. I've fitted my old AA Silencer (push on not screw) to my springer.

Sorry we couldn't hang around for the results, awards and cleaning up bud  You know what women are like Chris got me back here with half hour to spare, so I reckon he had about 10 minutes before his missus was at the gate with a 12 guage wanting her car back! That's assuming he didn't get held up at the railway crossing here at the edge of civilisation. Actually, He must have made it back in time as he was on FB earlier intead of the morgue LOL Bang up a thread with the results for me bud Reet I'm shutting down and off back to bed again. Oh and Thanks Davy hic Tony -
I took my Beast (she's got a kick and a half to her hence her name) to the meet last weekend where I rediscovered the thrill of shooting a springer (not shot her for years) She's an SMK XS/Mod19. I let some very hardened HW springer shooters have a play and they agreed she is an accurate rifle By the end of the hour I was popping 5 shot groups less than an inch at 20 yards and slotted the .22 lead through the small holes on the multi hole reset target multiple times; so more practice needed as I used to be so much better with her. My front sight is still somewhere in the deepest dar

Knocking Out Of Zero
Phantom replied to mickeyfn19's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Depends on the scope! My MK4 Leupold stayed absolutely drop-dead-spot on for over a year and it's got finger adjustable dial in BDC turrets (no caps) then I knocked it off a low loader on the pig farm! I have to zero it every time I use it now Also depends on the gun My Hawke HD (with covered Turrets) stays spot on, but after I knocked the silencer against the fence between the cemetery and paddock (only a tiny brush type knock) sent the barrel to one side. -
I would have suggested Chambers if it's a rifle that has a front sight, remember that a lot of modern rifles were designed without them.

What rifle you got?

Hey guy's, I had an amazing time at the meet, gorgious weather, brilliant friends and easy to get along with new people You all know what my memory is like, so I've forgotten almost all the names already  It was great to re-aquaint myself with the Beast again and rekindle my love of shooting a recoiler. I had forgotten how much of a sense of achievement you get when you thread a 5.5mm chunk of lead through a hole that wasn't much bigger than the pellet. Wurz, just a small gratitude Si, Davy and Chaz, yet again you pulled off an awsome time for us all and did so in such -
Yup I know they are your nearest and dearest bud and I agree they do look like they've been heavily beaten by a very vicious Ugly stick.
