  1. My comment was/is to anyone who wishes to sit back and do nothing, as doing nothing will allow these proposals to go through and we all then lose out It seems that the side with the fewest people yet have the biggest shout get what they want, the minority Anti's got our legal guns banned so we can no longer use them, we either had to scrap them by handing them into the police or have them turned into ornaments and have a certificate to prove that they were deactivated. The minority anti airgun users in Scotland are almost certainly going to get a licensing system implemented for all new gun
  2. Think most of us have, the point is that if they are allowed to change the rules, we wont be able to in the future Tony
  3. Nice Work Daz, Now get it cooked slowly Cajun style, Divine! Tony
  4. Hi Simon, The sitting on ones arse was a comment made to stir up people to do something about this. Good idea re the PM I know one politician is as bad as another, no matter which party runs (allegedly) the country. Ofcom (used to be Postcom) are being hit left right and centre at the moment to over rule the RM's proposals and Poor Miss Allcrom has suddenly decidedto take a holliday with the amount of emails she's being hit with If enough of us complain about it pointing out the legitamacy of our sport/hobby/lifestyle and how we rely on the RM for sending guns to one another and ge
  5. So your not going to do anything about it then? Your going to sit on your ar$e Ive just had this from a friend and it's got a point! He has emailed the appropriate person at the RM and he has CC'd it to the appropriate person at BASC. I suggest we all do something very similar and I've suggested it to this guy that he sends it to POSTCOMM Especially as POSTCOMM Ruled IN OUR FAVOUR last time that 'Consginia AKA Royal Mail' tried to stop the transportation of SPORTING GUNS it a few years ago. Now come on People, you have to do something, LOBBY the Royal Mail as we are doing, Su
  6. The number of people that have said that Daz, then said "Giz a go of that HW Tony"...... Few people realise its an SMK and not the HW35
  7. Same gun, 500 AAF Pellets, 50 paper targets, 6x40 scope and slip all for £130 from an RFD I considder to be a rip off merchant. So £180 second hand is outrageous Follow the advice above re age and permission Tony
  8. Where is the barrel weight in the Pix Mike? I own a SMK XS19 springer and it's the rifle that got me into hunting Still got it now and I only have one tiny gripe about it, "the trigger unit" I want to replace with a GRT2 or 3 As far as construction goes its excellently finished and is very accurate with AAF's Well done for giving the gun a strip, polish and lube. Those groups are pretty tight But please ditch those zinc things and go back to lead Tony
  9. Link fixed in original post. It didn'tlike the PDF extension!
  10. Thanks Daz, not sure why the link didn't work I got it from a member on the UBC forum. Tony
  11. The Royal Mail at the moment are obliged to carry "Sporting Guns" of all descriptions, including their parts! This means we can buy and sell second user items using the Royal Mail However....... The Royal Mail want to bow down to the Anti-Gun Lobby We do not have much time left to prevent them doing this They wish to change the rules, thus making our Legal Sales (we need their transportation facilities) of second user Air Rifles, Air Pistols and their parts to do so legally unless it's face to face. They are proposing that they are allowed to tell us to feck off, thus ma
  12. I like to see the patterns, but not shot any ferrals yet, only place I get to see them is in Hull City Centre and the Hull Transport Hub/station. Oh feck!!!!! I just remembered I was supposed to call in the travel centre for SRT and My Rail Reservations FECK!!!!
  13. Got one of those on my baby at the moment, well the one with the AO (she's keeping it occupied until it can be reunited with it's beloved Ultra). Lovely posed pic bud dead birds so look better with their wings open Tony
  14. Nice one Daz, Bet it felt good to pick up the gun and do the deed once more after such a break Thats a great help to next years songbird chicks Tony
  15. Just been looking at the stats on CGP, I'd not have any problems using a Ratty at around 8ft/lbs out to 35 yards on bunnies. A Crosman Prem will impart above 5ft/lbs to the brain at that range, much more than it takes to kill a bunny I cant wait to get it back into working condition and give it a try in the field I had it out a few weeks ago when it was running at about 4-5 ft/lbs in the cemetery (Chris was with me) and it was chucking the lead out to our 30 yard markers Tony
  16. Often been asked how much I charge They look suprised when I say I do it for free Tony
  17. Not too bad then, for a Ratty, I managed to bring mine up to almost 8 before I blew the valve replacement valve arrived today, so the softer hammer spring goes back in when I fit the new valve later this week. Tony
  18. I got a 2250B at the meet for a tenner, granted it had been cutdown into a pistol and it needed a fair bit of work doing to it and it's now back to being a rifle again. Generally most people ask for about 2 thirds of the new price to 3 quarters of the new price. As you say they are not particularly desirable but they ARE very customisable and stripping and selling for spares could quite possible be the best option, there are always Ratty bits and bobs on eBay. You could always advertise it in the second hand sales on here or advertise it on Gun Star. Good luck with the sale what e
  19. Well he does seem to be a bit inexperianced, must admit, when ever I've seen a mole hill erupt in close proximity (and they do regularly if your still and quiet) I have wondered what it would be like to see one poking its head up I can just imagine one poping it head out and it's huge hands up at the side (as if to surrender) looking directly at a barrel muzzle and it thinking 'Oh sh!t! Bad Move!' Tony
  20. Nice work Your going to have to jump on em to get em in that lil bag Tony
  21. You and me both However, It's life We dont have xray vision! The only Squirrel I have shot so far on my perms turned out to have four young in her. Whilste it was a High Five for me, it was also something that made me both feel bad and second guess myself! If I'd not have taken the shot, would there have been more on my perms in the future? We will never know...... But she sure tasted amazing Tony
  22. Class A Snappit with a few No' 13 slipshot
  23. Oiy Dave, I activated your account t'other day, come say hello Tony
  24. I've watched mole hills appear in front of me when I've been sniping over warrens, but I've never actually seen a mole come above ground. The mole traps sit below ground so only the handles are above ground and I dont think they can be triggered from above ground by an animal. I had moles decimate the garden lawn one spring/summer we had to call in the council Pest Controller in the end at first he put traps down and he said the cat and dog would be fine. Eventually after a week he decided to use the poisons. Tony
