  1. Well I took my 1st bunny last week and Stealthy1 said "you'll be wanting to be out there all the time" He's right Bunny Boppin is very addictive isnt it Went out at 04:00 this morning, by 04:30 I had my second bunny Decided to get a bit arty-farty and take a pick of my rifle and prize Here it is (sorry, I only had my phone with me and its not that good in low light!) 2. Head shots are preferable, but heart/lungs will do the trick I have a very cheap SMK Mod19, people slate them because they are chinese. I took it out for a hunt (one of 5 trips so far) and bopped a bunny in the head at about 20ish yards and pellet dropped it clean exiting the other side and going gawd knows where, heres a link to it http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=106651 Rifle last time I had it chronographed was doing a pleasant 10.5 ft/lbs so easily despatches bunnies out to 35+yards if target hit in head. But for clarity if you can hit just below
  3. Thats a serious dent in the local population! Well done the both of you. What will you do with them all, stock your freezer or get sick of eating Rabbit lol Phantom
  4. Someone pointed that out to me the petition is as follows: The Calman Report recommends that The Scottish Parliament should be handed control of airgun legislation in Scotland. The Scottish Parliament will undoubtedly use this power to place a ban on unlicensed airguns in Scotland. This measure harms the legitimate sporting shooter and fails to address the real problem; that caused by unlawful use of airguns. Criminal use of airguns by its nature cannot be legislated against by removing airguns from those who abide by the law. We believe that this ban will have an adverse effect on le
  5. Hi Michael, At the moment, It'll be cheaper to buy the mount for me. Transport to my nearest BnQ will cost me a fortune. Oh hang on my Brother in law works at BnQ!! I'll give him a ring! Thanks mate Phantom
  6. Hi Rob, I didnt start it. It was by a guy on an other forum (the forum that gets a lot of stick from certain individuals on this forum ). I just figured that every shooter young, old, plinker or hunter (whatever forum they use) needs to work together and sign it and I promissed I would put the link up on a number of forums that I use including a forum that I created and manage. So come on EVERYBODY sign it FOR ALL OUR SAKES Phantom
  7. Okay, I normally stay well clear of politics, but figured I must interject with this one. Sign this petition now! http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/ScottishGunBan/ Phantom
  8. Cheers Michael thats superb Did my mod yesterday using an old remote from an el'cheapo laser from ebay. Now Just gotta get the filter Oh at the moment I have mine hung under the barrel, using el'cheapo (from same set) scope to laser adapter. I will buy another adaptor so I can mount it ontop or at side of my scope. Phantom

  10. I have heard a lot about the Tesco Torches all of which has been very good so figured I'd get one and try it. I dont know if I got the correct model as I was told it has the word "CRE" on the packaging. The one that I got doesn't but hellfire its bright and has a massive throw of light on it Lights up the chimney stack of a house a good 50 or more yards away from me. Theres a guy around somewhere who mods the torches so the switch can be fastened to the stock of the rifle. And it sits nicely in an old laser holder under the barrel of my rifle For less than £8.00 Im very pleas
  11. Cheers Smokin, Will go have a rumage through the wifes cosmetics draw, she's bound to have some of that
  12. Thanks guy's. Another Question or two! My right hand is now swolen from the side where my pinkie is to the thumb! Looks like a small bite My ass has HUGE bites on it as have my legs back and chest any ideas what insects are likely to be getting through military spec clothing feasting on my blood? and how can I prevent this? I'm loathed to use the insect repellant I use when fishing as its got quite a powerful whiff Phantom
  13. Cheers Steve, Will have to leave him a note, I've only met him the once and he didn't give me his number!! Thanks again. Phantom
  14. I went out his morning (03:15) as it was getting light to the paddock for a spot of Bunny Bashing, Corvid Capping and Pigeon Popping Got there and hey, BUNNIES, loads of em I had to climb over the Tall Gate and of course they all vanished The owner has cut loads of the scrub down and now the only way to stalk the wabbits is to get on my belly and crawl withing range. Trouble with that is the amound of horse crap everywhere. There are 7 horses and they produce a hell of a lot of the stuff Now the ONLY cover I have is to sit at the side of the caravan or behind the hay
  15. Cool, I got my first yesterday Not very big just a few hundered yards of Pony Paddock, but there are a fair number of bunnies on it that I can take. Horse owner wants me to deal with the Corvids as he saw one attack one of his Shetlands. Went up there this afternoon found a bunnie with half its side missing? Dead obviously! Put it out in a good spot, slit its belly to drop its innards as bait. Corvids a plenty flying around but none landed. Maggies as well, one on a lamp post out of the field eyeing it up but wouldn't come close Had one Bunnie just sitting there tormenting
  16. all for your comments. Had the bunny roasted in the oven Cajun Style. Ummmm........ G O R G E O U S Still licking my chops
  17. Hey, relax It'll come sooner or later. Ive had 3 trip out, first bunny this morning Adrenaline is a bugger, but just let it flow and dont be in too much of a rush. There are people who do use slings, but I dont and according to the late great John Darling reckons the sound of the swivels on the studs can alert a bunny to imminent danger! Phantom
  18. Wasn't too far, about 20 yards saw it through a small clump of grass
  19. Cheers Gents, Yup, that will always stay with me Wolly, that hole you see is the exit wound! Entry was on its right side just a bit higher and further back. Took that pic as was lot less blood that side. Had a stroke of luck about 10:30ish as well. My daughter had left her games kit and packed lunch at home, so I had to walk the couple of miles to her school On the way back I saw a horse owner in his paddock, lots of rabbits at one end too Approached him, chatted a while mentioned the rabbits, he mentioned the Corvid that had recently wounded one of his Shetlands, hey prest
  20. Wooohooooo!, about time too! After using my air rifles for plinking and paper punching in the garden, then using them to remove Mice that had set up a homestead inside my shed over winter (1 fell to my ASI Sniper in .177, 1 fell to my SMK Mod19 in.22 and two fell to traps) I decided to have a go at some serious hunting. I've had 3 hunting trips now and out of them two have drawn blanks . Today after sitting in wait for about 20 mins I was able to bag my first Bunny Phantom
  21. HW45, in fact just about any springer pistol will do it at that range. Even the SMKS2 that cost around 25quid. Phantom

Ref the pic of the Hare Hellfire I've seen Hares running in fields from a distance and judging by the size of that it was a great distance Its hind legs are as big as the rabbit never seen one up close and had no idea as to how big those creatures are. Thanks for sharing the pic Phantom
  23. You SICK B'stard  You beat me to it Thats just my sort of humor
  24. I have some recipies for the more adventurous hunter, Not sure if I would try the corvid ones though unless they were corvids that were well away from mankinds sh!te. Tony
  25. NO Not really, While a silencer or MODERATOR, can help with the initial crack from the muzzle, there is a hell of a crack when the pellet strikes a target (especially a head shot on a bunny). People have been hunting for generations without silencers so no they are not a nessecity. I personally think it all comes down to personal preference Tony
